The CB1100 Community Forum

I spotted 2 on this mornings ride that will make for good pics I think. Will try and get back out tomorrow on the CB and snap them. It was 27 degrees this morning and I was on the ST.

Went looking for some historic churches today.

This Lutheran church was in Posey TX, just South of Lubbock. Dates back to 1920 and still active.







This Episcopal church dates back to 1913 and is the oldest surviving church in Lubbock. It was relocated to the Lubbock Arboretum and has been restored, except for the interior which was gutted when it was used for rental housing and later abandoned. Used primarily for weddings with the adjacent gardens. When I was there today, a couple was being photographed. No vehicle access, so the closeups were sans CB1100.

I met my Sunday obligation today.

some nice looking Churches and i love hearing about history .
sorry my photo's are so large but the 2nd one says it is 2.75" wide .

the 2nd church i posted is st john the evangelist catholic church with its main building built 1851 .
a 3 block strip park is across the street and every Saturday it is used to sell , trade or barter anything legal without permit , tax or government interference . mostly local produce , meats , cooked food , honey , arts and crafts etc. from 8-2pm

6. The same user cannot pick the photo subject on consecutive months. If the first photo comes from the same user that posted the first photo in the prior month, the second user posting a photo will get to pick the next background subject.

Truly, 6 rules are probably 5 too many. Just go with the spirit of this challenge and get out and ride your motorcycle!

Had to show this one simply because its so cute.



Fortunately, there was a women in the Highland Baptist church office that knew the history. Back in 1974, a church member wanted a prayer room that would be available 24/7. The church allowed him to build (and pay for) this tiny chapel in their parking lot.

Unfortunately, demographics have changed in the area and it is no longer kept open.

There's a little chapel in Indiana that looks just like this. It's called "Wayside Chapel" and it's on US52 near Lafayette.
