I went out for a short ride yesterday, and got a few pics of interest. I live on a lake in Western North Carolina, and so snapped these at the base of one of the earthen dams that created the lake about 100 years ago. It's trout season here, so if you look closely, you can see some folk trout fishing in the river. This water comes from depths of about 120 feet in the lake, and so it's very cold, even in August.

Finally, I had to include one dam picture for Suhawk:

It's a little hard to make out, but this is a large earthen dam, with a small power-generating station below it. At the top of that grassy area is a road that crosses over the dam. I've posted many pics of Mt. Mitchell and Grandfather Mt. from on the road up there. Hope you enjoy!
