I'm really NOT pleased with myself for not finding an abandoned gas station . . . I LIKE them!
If I find one soon, I may post a photo . . . Forgiveness is easier than permission, right???
I think NRTM was first but was just late with his photo lol, so I say NTRM has to pick the next months challenge
Your choice, NRTM... just about anything except a hot model draped over your CB like on the cover of Chopper magazine.
Ben
CB1100 Monthly Photo Challenge
The Challenge: A user (the first one will be yours truly) will pick a location, landmark, geographical feature, etc. to serve as the backdrop for your photo. Users will then post photos meeting the requirement in this thread for our ogling pleasure. The first user to submit a qualifying photo chooses the backdrop for the following month's challenge.
The goal: To encourage users to get out and ride and to document those rides with photos and, most of all, to have a little fun with the whole process.
The Rules:
1. The CB1100 must be the featured bike in the photo. Caption the photo with the date and the location.
2. Feel free to alter your photo to make it look better, but don't cut and paste into another photo just to qualify.
3. The photos should be new photos, not something you had on file and especially not something you posted elsewhere in this forum.
4. You may post multiple qualifying pictures in a month, but the background has to be different (ex. you can post two pictures of your bike in front of a train station, but they have to show two different stations)
5. Not really a rule, but don't stop trying to get a picture for a particular month just because someone beat you to the first post for that month. We want to see lots of pictures.
6. The same user cannot pick the photo subject on consecutive months. If the first photo comes from the same user that posted the first photo in the prior month, the second user posting a photo will get to pick the next background subject.
Truly, 6 rules are probably 5 too many. Just go with the spirit of this challenge and get out and ride your motorcycle!
A recap of the rules..... November is noroomtomove's month to pick a subject. (And I'm not 100% sure that I agree with Ben's topic restriction, but let's hold off on the "hot model" topic until it's summer in the US)
I know I'm late for the October contest but I really did take the pics last weekend when it hit 70 degrees here. Submitting them now for a historical record that I made the effort! Motored out through a couple of canyons to get to Echo, Utah for these pictures. Approx. 40 miles from my house.
Echo was and still is a small sleepy America burg tucked into a notch of red rock. When and if Echo ever had a heyday it was in the early part of the 20th century when the railroad kept it alive.
Once the freeway came it bypassed Echo and cemented it's fate. Drive down the one street in Echo and its as if time has stood still.
More about Echo can be found here :

About a mile out of town on the original black top that was orphaned when the highway was put in.

By my reckoning, this was the first complying photo for October, so I think the Ferret gets to choose.

I've chosen several times. If NRTM doesn't answer soon, let somebody else have a shot. How about Suhawk since he had the old station and a pic of the old station when it was in operation. That was cool.
I’m fine with that. I guess we should defer to EmptySea. He got us into this.
