Did an overnight trip to Talimena Scenic Drive with the Samurider K&H tall seat arriving just in time to try it out ... Talimena is fun for motorcycles, lots of elevations and curves, and while it used to be clogged with retirees in slow-moving Winnebagos and Buick LeSabres a decade or two ago, every time I've been in the last 7 years, I've only seen one or two cars and was able to have lots of fun with the throttle, gears and brakes.
But I digress ... I was on the lookout for local pride for the contest ... most towns failing miserably ... so this is the best I could find.
Technically, not a town, but a nation ... worth a stop. It was Sunday so everything was closed, but they have a museum and other attractions.
This is where you turn off of 271 northeast of Clayton, Oklahoma:
And Paris (Texas) has a nice square with a European-esque fountain and this elegant working playhouse.
Since I talked about Talimena so much, here's the west entrance on the Talihina, Oklahoma side ... terminates in Mena, Arkansas.
Poteau and Heavener (Green Country Inn, with dining car restaurant across the street) are good places to stay just north of the middle.

I'm going to crunch some numbers, take some comparison photos, and add my full review to the appropriate thread. The short answer is ... I think it's a little better, but I don't think it's $700 better than the stock one.
Memorial to Marshall University plane crash on 11/14/70. 75 perished, including football team, support staff and some boosters.

Here is the entry panel of my town:
Note the rather low speed limit (30 km/h, that is less than 19 mph...). This used to be the speed limit around schools, but now it is generalized all over the Grenoble area, only a few avenues allow 50 km/h.
The owl is the logo of the Regional Natural Parc of Chartreuse : Le Fontanil is at the foot of the Chartreuse mountain.
3 flowers at the "towns and villages in bloom competition" - not too bad!

This reminds me of last October when I rented a Vespa in Tuscany for four days ... try obeying the 30kph limit passing through towns and you'll get run over. Took me a couple of days to realize what the photo cameras look like ... have gotten two traffic tickets so far after the fact ...

I wasn’t on my CB but was running errands and saw this at a stoplight. Made me cringe. As if wearing shorts isn’t bad enough. Flip flops?

Pfft. That's nothing. Go to Myrtle Beach SC. Common motorcycle gear: flip flops, tank top, shorts, no helmet.
