Yeah... first heat wave of the year. Luckily, I work closer to the beach, so it might just be in the upper 80s in my warehouse today.
I don't mind the weekday commute in the heat, since it's only about 20 minutes each way. But my weekend commute to the museum is over an hour, and in the heat, it gets a little tedious.

But, the L.A. location of the Bike Shed is opening this weekend, and I'd like to check it out. And, I think I know where I can spot some vintage planes along the way.

Yeah, if one doesn't need to look pretty (aka no "helmet head") or be dry (i.e. not sweaty and soaked) on the other end, then a hot ride can be bearable or even enjoyable.
And if you like the really early stuff (WW1 and earlier) there is The Shuttleworth Collection in Bedfordshire. A CB1100 with a Sopwith Camel. What could be better?

Indeed. I love that the English have preserved these old fields and bring out their restored planes, cars and military vehicles. Great fun.

We stayed in a motel in Tucson on our vacation, and were looking for the nearest Starbucks the next morning on Google Maps. The map didn't mention that the Starbucks happened to be on an Air Force base.

"Sorry, I was just following the GPS to the closest Starbucks... mind if I turn around?

About 20 years ago, I was with 3 buddies heading to Florida to golf via a stop in Washington DC. We accidentally exited at Langley and decided to see if they had tours of CIA Headquarters. The guard said "Umm... this is CIA Headquarters. We don't give tours here" Of course we felt like idiots.

The interesting thing was that they opened the gate so we could turn around to exit.

The other interesting thing was that I was video taping most of the drive with my Sony Handycam and got nauseous from doing that while driving....and that came to a head while exiting CIA Headquarters. My buddy stopped the car and I threw up about 500 feet outside the fence line...within sight of the guard that we just talked to.

lol. Wow. ... Spooky.
Gee, EmptySea, either you’re in a prison somewhere making stuff up and the Ferret is part of a massive hoax, or you were lucky to get away with it.
I'm all for a ....challenging....challenge...but I'm a pilot and I'd be...challenged....to come up with this photo. Hoping that ferret wins this one so that we can get graded on a curve again! Otherwise next month it'll be a photo of your bike being chased by a three legged dog on Wednesday, and the dog needs to occupy exactly 1/3 of the photo in the horizontal direction and the fact that it's Wednesday needs to be clearly conveyed in the photo Smile
