Does anyone have any experience with this?

I just bought a 2014 and the first order of business is to build a nice set of spoke wheels. Will the OEM spoke hubs from any year 2013-2015 bolt up to my 2014 with no modifications? I’m looking at a set of SUN brushed hoops with stainless steel spokes,19 front 17 rear slightly thinner rim up front and the widest rim-tire I can do on the rear.

The following video shows where to find the service connector, how to access it and read stored fault codes.
it also shows a way to erase these codes with the help of a small wire jumper once the fault has been repaired or connectors have been replaced during service.

Wife had a day off from " makin me my money " so we took the CB to Fort Pickens where on October 25, 1886 a train pulled into Pensacola with Geronimo and 15 Apache warriors to be confined at the fort's prison.

I used an open plastic (kitty litter) pan for my oil changes. But it and the funnel had to be cleaned with paper towels after each use. Oily paper towels are both messy and dangerous in a hot garage in the summer. The windows on my garage door fast the hot afternoon sun.

Taking them to the curb to degrease and wash them annoyed my tree hugging neighbour. Not too good for the neighbourhood settlement pond either which is used by frogs, ducks and geese.

So I bought this drain pan at Walmart.


The grate keeps the drain plug and washer from dropping into the hot oil. When finished the top can be capped, and the dirty oil poured out of the spout into the empty 4 liter Honda jug. Cap the spout and set drain pan aside for the next time. No need to clean it, no oily paper towels to deal with. The oil in the Honda jug goes to Canadian Tire for recycling.

Had the opportunity yesterday to stop by the dealer and they finally had a 2018 CB1100 on the floor to look at. What a disappointment! When will manufacturing learn that people are getting tired of everything getting cheaper and cheaper except the price. The plastic used on the turn signals was beyond pitiful. It felt like it was maybe half the thickness and as would follow the strength of what I have on my 2014. The exhaust was even worse, metal looks thinner, just not up to what I anyway, have come to expect and respect from a brand like Honda.

Tires were so so, Dunlop's, but certainly not what one would think would come on a $13,000 bike. The tank, while I do not know the specs on it, looks like its about 1/2 gal. smaller than on my 2014. That may not be the case, but it looks it. Most the metal on it was aluminum from how it looked. Which isn't a bad thing, it just didn't jump out as a beautiful made to last bike.

The quality of workmanship was good. Paint looked well done. I did really like the new headlight Honda went with on these, well I did until I asked the parts Department the price. Once I stopped laughing at the $945.00 price tag (and no it is not even glass) I had to take a step back and think how lucky I am to have my 2014. I will never part with it. While things even on it, arnt build like the old CB750's were, I am more than certain it will be here long after these newer ones are gone.

When I was younger, I never really understood what people meant when they said "you get what you pay for" this is one example that there is nothing made the way it used to be, and while that isn't bad for some things, I cant accept it in my toys. I always hope the world might stop and look back at things, and maybe take the time to learn from the past, but with every day that passes my faith in things feels harder to sustain.

I hope someone at Honda will wake up, before they end up the Wally World of Motorcycles. I would love for other people here to voice in with your opinion's, its always nice to know what other people think. Besides I always seem to learn something new from it.

What do you get when you cross a CB1100 with a CBR1000RR? I saw the progeny on the Honda website, today. I think the exhaust is the first thing I would change.

Anyone come across a smaller front fender that they really like? I like the look of no fender but obviously that is not ideal in the case of a sudden rain shower.

On the other hand im curious how much does a short fender protect from the spay off the tire?

I think i had a lot of buffeting mounting it on my old school 3 snap helmet visor which flops around which is something i will look into.
