I was hunting around for information on Roper's question about importing a CB1300 to the USA and stumbled across the new Honda 125 Monkey. I really like the retro look of this bike.

OK I have never done this before but here goes'! I am trying to install the OEM Heated Grip kit, for the most part its pretty simple, but being a life long Aircraft Mechanic I guess my logical way of thinking gets in the way sometimes. When I am asked to just start plugging wires here and there with no identification or color let alone a wiring diagram I get worried. Can anyone out there help me out with that? The instructions I downloaded give like 3 maybe 4 actual plug the blue into the blue and green into the green, but then in the factory harness I have a grey wire, there is no grey wire coming from the grip on the left, only blue, green, and white. Am I supposed to just guess and hope I don't short out the control box and plug the white and grey wires together? Any input would be greatly appreciated. I will see If I can upload a couple pictures that might shed some light on my dilemma. I am working on a 2014 CB1100 I guess I should have said that earlier sorry.

I really like the CB1300 in the half-faired Bol D'or trim. But I doubt there will ever be a market for it here in the U.S. I don't even think they're in Canada or Mexico. Anyone ever import a motorcycle from Asia?

Beautiful spring day yesterday and my Harley friend rumbles by and says “hop on” to the very comfortable pillion bucket of his big Ultra Limited. Never been a passenger on a bike since I was a kid and was a bit nervous of the 5 km gravel road to get to where my bike was stored. After almost six months (no battery tender - just some fuel stabilizer in the tank) it fired up effortlessly and began to purr. Tires were just down a few psi each which seemed to help with the gravel road back.

I don’t think I need here to describe the feeling of the first spring ride, particularly on a CB1100. Went to sleep with a big grin on my face last night.

Had a little scare this morning on the way to work. As I’m approaching my freeway exit I get over with plenty of time and fall in line with other traffic slowing for the exit. We had collectively slowed to around 50mph when my bike went into a violent wobble that must have lasted 2 or 3 seconds. My feet were thrown of off the pegs and the rear started alternately beating the insides of my legs while the bars whipped back and forth. I thought for sure I was going down, but I kept my cool and reacted without panicking. My legs are killing me, but I kept the bike up.

Speeds were about 50mph and slowing gently, no hard braking, no known road obstacles. It felt like the rear brake was locked up for the whole wobble. Riding the last mile to work felt odd every time I applied the rear brake….once I parked the bike I found that the rear brake lever is bent up and out which drastically changed its position relative to my foot. That’s why things felt different.

Could that lever have been bent (out and up) by my leg smashing into the side of the bike? It wasn't like that when I left the house. Think I can just step on it to bend it back, or would I be putting weird stress on other components that I can’t see?

I'm still trying to replay the whole thing in my head in the hope that I can determine the cause of the wobble. The bike has never done that, and aside from cars ahead and behind me conditions were pretty favorable.

Wondering at what RPM everyone likes to cruise their CB. I try to keep mine at or around the 3,000 RPM range. There's plenty of torque to cruise at much lower RPM but I don't want to lug the engine. What are your thoughts on the optimum cruise RPM?
