Hi,

Can anyone comment on what is involved? Other than the physical removal of the tank, what else is involved? Fuel pump/hoses/wiring? I'm thinking about getting a new tank on Samurider, but don't want a headache. Thanks in advance.

I had bought a 2017 set of front forks to put on my 2013 and 2014.
As my 2013 has over 10.000 miles on it I thought that I do that one first.
It went very easy , especially having a Pitbull front stand :HOWEVER , the last job was to put the brake calipers back and than I noticed that they would not fit.
The bolt pattern on the 2013 brake calipers is about 1 inch further apart than on the 2014 DLX or 2017 and therefor they would not fit.
Put the old forks back again and I will put the forks on the 2014.
It could be different on the non ABS 2013 but do not order the 2017 forks for the 2013 ABS !!!

Went to our forum tire guru's house today. CA200 has a tire changer and balancer in his garage. I usually spoon my tires by hand but my son said last time I did his I scratched his rim. Steve did NOT scratch my son's rim today. He is a real pro and it was nice to talk about some of our bike/rides in his garage today along with his lovely bride Judy.

And I got a pic of his CB. He has 3 bikes crammed in there!

As most of you know I have to sell my beloved CB due to health reasons.
My main issue is constant trembling/shaking and I am not very steady on my feet.
Yesterday I needed to change the oil, clean/lube/adjust the chain, and give her a bath. I was scared as you-know-what to roll her up on the lift table, let alone pull her up on the centerstand on the table.
In the past, I would put my left foot on the edge of the table, then very quickly put my right foot on the stand and lift her up. I was far from comfortable doing it that way yesterday.
SO, I figured out that I could keep my left foot planted firmly on the garage floor, put my right foot on the centerstand and instead of lifting using the hand rail, I lifted it using the foot peg bracket. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was!! For the first time in quite a while, I enjoyed my time with the 1100. I was able to accomplish everything I wanted to do....except go for a ride.
At least now I feel like I made a useful contribution to this great forum.

Due to a flat and just bad wear on the Griso I replaced the tires with Road Pilot 4's after having such a good experience with the Road Pilot 3's on the CB. The Metzlers that came stock on the Griso have not been such a good thing. The front tire had a bizarre wear pattern, and no rain sipes (hydroplaned on them once!!).

Just a few miles on them so far but the profile is working for me. We will see how they perform on a road trip and in the rain come August when I do the Datil Rally.

I notice it more now that I ride a bike without a full fairing. The old bike - 83 Goldwing Interstate (starting to miss it).

I use generic earplugs you get at the hardware store for tool noise but maybe there is a better option for helmet noise.

I went for a 3 hr tour yesterday and by the time I got home I was done with the helmet noise.
