Anyone come across a smaller front fender that they really like? I like the look of no fender but obviously that is not ideal in the case of a sudden rain shower.

On the other hand im curious how much does a short fender protect from the spay off the tire?

The stock mudguard (fender) leaves a great deal of mess on the engine.

It doesn't. The stock fender still lets surprising amount of grime though, ao I can't imagine the bloodbath you get from not having a fender altogether. Every rock and pebble you drive over, will be flung against the oil cooler and front of the engine.

IMHO a black front fender would look good on your bike. If you're not overly concerned about riding in the wet and/or on dirt or stones then maybe the standard fender cut just a bit shorter (1") on the front and a little shorter again (2") on the rear would give the right dimensions to suit your road scrambler styled bike. De-chrome and paint it satin black to match the forks and it should blend in nicely. Each to their own, eh!

I have the WM small fender, and I like it. I should get it painted at one point or another though.

I happen to have an original front fender powder coated black hanging in my garage. Previous owner did that, I reverted to original chrome.

Make me a reasonable offer if you would like one to fiddle with.
