Posted by: PeteinPA_imp - 09-13-2023, 10:50 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (10)

I only recently started looking at prices on FB Market for a 2013 CB1100. Seems they're all under 7500 miles.
of course a 14 or newer is more.

What's a good price with winter coming?
It's 46F this morning.

   Light problems/electrical
Posted by: Dude_imp - 09-13-2023, 06:05 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (6)

Hey guys I have never had to mess with an electrical issue before on a vehicle and I am needing some guidance on where to troubleshoot first. Bike has 40,000 miles and is my daily rider. Great bike!

So the issue was initially with the headlight, it would turn off every few minutes or so while riding. I have changed the headlight bulb and the issue is still present. Most times when I turn the bike over the headlight is on.

Now I'm having issues with the turn signals. None of them work at all and they don't flicker or turn on or anything when starting the bike, they are currently completely inop. Could this just be a fuse issue or a ground wire issue? I will be getting into the bike over the next couple of days when I have time off.

Also, the computer/clock resets to "1:00" after the bike is turned off for more than a couple of minutes, all other gauges appear to be working normally.

The tail light functions how it is supposed to without any problems. I am a noob at this and just looking for some guidance/help. Thank you

  A Rare Miss

Maybe there was a reason that this jacket was on clearance for less than forty bucks.

Placing an order on motorcyclegear.com, a great place for discounted gear at a good price. I was in that grey area, where I could pay for shipping, or add something to my order to get free shipping. That's how they get 'ya, isn't it?

"The Denny", a casual-style riding jacket from Cortech, was on clearance for $39. Enough to give me free shipping, and it looked nice, one of those "looks good off the bike too" jackets. I like those styles, particularly when I'm meeting Mrs. G or friends for dinner after work.

Trying it on, I figured out why it was probably on clearance (And even cheaper on some other sites). The picture on the website makes it look very stylish, doesn't it?

First of all, the arms were so tight that I could barely get my arms in them. I don't work out, and have very normal arms. Zipped and buttoned up, the front of the collar fell below the level of the t-shirt I was wearing. This thing was apparently made for people with huge necks. I had plenty of room inside it, but the length of the jacket was also shorter than my shirt. Finally, the pockets were placed so far back on the sides that I found myself twirling in a circle just trying to put my hand in one of them, like a dog chasing his tail.

I got the feeling that this jacket was tailored by someone who had seen a grainy photo of a jacket long ago, and now decided to try designing one. Wouldn't have made sense to exchange for a larger size... I'd probably be able to fit my arms in the sleeves, but I'd be swimming in it and the collar would be half-way down my chest.

I guess it wasn't such a deal after all, back it went.

Pictures of OEM Rear turn signal mount
Posted by: Houndwheels_imp - 09-12-2023, 04:19 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (8)

Hi all

I just acquired a 12 Deluxe and it has the rear turn signals mounted by the plate. I’d like to put them back to there factory location.

By any chance does somebody have pictures of the OEM mounting set up so I can replicate it? I appear to missing some OEM hardware that I think I’m going to need.

Thanks

  Spark plug socket.
Posted by: Jgarciajr40_imp - 09-11-2023, 02:23 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (5)

I see it has to be a thin wall socket, but will any 14MM 12-point work?

Found some old posts about motion pro, but doesn’t look like they make theirs anymore.

Just hate to run to Home Depot and back home to realize “oh this one’s too chunky too”. Also 1/4 or 3/8? I figure 1/4 would be better for clearance

  Help!!
Posted by: kencal001_imp - 09-10-2023, 05:00 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (17)

Hey guys, i have a 2013 cb1100 with a littler over 10,000 miles. Bike has been riding flawlessly up until yesterday. I was riding fine for a few hours up until I was at a stop light and all of the sudden as I was trying to accelerate out of 1st gear my bike stalled. I thought i was acting like a noob not able to accelerate out of 1st gear, but I had to rev much more than usual in order to for the bike not to stall out. Also the exhaust sounded much different like a loss of power. Tank is full of premium gas, can't seem to figure out what the issue is. Still having the same symptoms when I returned home. When trying to accelerate out of 1st gear I have to give A LOT of throttle. CAN YOU GUYS HELP OUT PLEASE! TIA!!!
