So yesterday I decided to replace my slightly leaking Cam cover gasket. After about 2 hours of cursing and struggling with all the plastic crap under the tank, I finally got it replaced. I then tried to start the bike but it only cranked, no fuel pump and no spark. I eventually traced the fault to the bank angle sensor which I had remembered dropped on the floor. After a bit of vigorous shaking it came good....must have gotten the pendulum stuck and now the bike runs fine. Note to Mr Honda....Can you make the ears on the quick connect fitting on the fuel tank a tiny bit longer so I can actually squeeze them in or move the tank outlet to a place that is accessible. I don't have large hands but trying to release the fuel line in a very small space is a real pain.

Well, the Oscillation in the front end of my CB has returned. It's going to the shop very soon, don't worry, I am not going to try to fix this myself.

Small recap: Last year I replaced my front brake discs because i was feeling a rythmic oscillation in the front end under low speed front braking. This is a classic sign of a warped brake disc. after replacing them both, I was happy to report that the oscillation went away. However, over the course of many months the oscillation slowly returned. It's been less than a year at this point and it's already back, leading me to believe there's now something wrong with the bike itself that's re-warping the new discs. Everything I know how to measure seems to be aligned with regards to the front forks ect, but then I don't know much. Another interesting symptom I noticed is that one of the four brake pads in the front calipers is wearing out much faster than the other 3...even though they were all changed at the same time. odd.

As said above this is definitely going to a shop because everything I work on is a disaster, but I'm still curious. What does the knowledge base at large think could be causing these discs to warp?

To all users:
I am running software on my computer, which looks into any weblinks called up (in the background) when I open a site. It intercepts any such "home calls", e.g. when I go onto a commercial site. But our forum was always "clean". Guess my surprise, when I noticed this morning ... for the first time ever ... that cb1100forum.com calls up Google analytics. Has anybody (moderators, admin, other ???) approved or at least acknowledged this change ?
Do we care ? yes we do, or at least ... we should. Why should Google be allowed to make money with our forum, when this money does not go to our community, the operating cost ( web service ), or anything else to our benefit ?

I’ve finally got fed up of seventies bikes always having problems with the carbs, so bought a 2020 cb1100 ex.
Love it, looks great, rides and sounds like a proper old school Japanese four.
But…
I really want a rack and top box on it. Any ideas?

I finished a company event in Martin, Michigan at the end of last week, and Mrs. G flew out to meet me, so we could spend all of this past week touring the Michigan Upper Peninsula.

Our first stop was the Gilmore Museum in Hickory Corners. It’s a huge and magnificent car museum that dwarfs most collections.

One small building houses their motorcycle collection. Among several historically significant bikes, look what we discovered. Here’s Mrs. G telling me that now I can’t sell mine…

You can see the famous “Meet the Nicest People” ad above the CB1100, and they had some neat ads representing other brands.




This might help me convince my boss at my museum that my CB is worthy of indoor parking when I ride it to work!

Hi I'm a new member. I need some help . I have a custom build I'm working on. I would like to run a set of cbll00 wheels and front end. I have looked all over and I can't seem to find the triple clamp off set and what are the length of the fork tubes from the center of the axel to the top. Could someone measure the fork length for me. Also if someone knows the triple clamps off set that would be fantastic. Thanks jay
