Just out of curiosity is the CB1100 engine in any way related the the CBR 1100 (blackbird) engine? I know one is air cooled and no doubt the Blackbird is water cooled.

Hello everyone,
I have a low mile 2016 CB1100 EX, which I am very pleased with. Got the opportunity to buy a low mile 2019 model, but I have never ridden it yet. Any pro’s or con’s?

Had someone read the OBD for me, and this is what we got.
“Communication serial” “power to cluster”.
I did noticed a hard start so I may try a new battery as I believe mines the original. I’ll check around the wires leading from the cluster to the battery too, but any advice on what to inspect if appreciate. Honda dealer is booked 6 months out and there’s only one dealer within 150miles…
I have a CB1100 ex ca 2017

What's the ideal ambient temperature at which to ride your motorcycle? The survey is in Fahrenheit, but if one of our metric moderators wants to edit it to include Celsius, feel free.

Hey All,
I just bought a 2013 CB1100 so I'm new here. I'm not sure if mine has ABS or if abs was an option, I'm guessing mine doesn't have it since I don't see an abs light come on when I first start the bike.

I would like to buy a rack which I found at webike, and it seems there is on;y 1 or 2 left. It looks like a perfect solution for a problem I don't have. Here is a photo:
Problem is, it is designed for the earlier SC65 models, and mine is a EX. The latches where the bolts attach under the seat are in a slightly different position.
Long story short, would anybody know how difficult it might be for a well equipped shop to bend it into shape (if needed) or add an adapter to make the latches positions fit my SC78 ? My guess, it cannot be too difficult since the shape of the CB's frame (under the seat) has not changed between 2013 and 2017.
But I wouldn't mind a 2nd opinion.

Weather forecast is good for a ride to Taos, tomorrow.
Route selected should provide the most mountain miles.
I've retired from M/C forums, after 21 years of posting, but thought I would do one more post on my favorite forum.
Over 3,000 miles on the V7-850 since May.

Not just the tank color, but the combination of tank, side covers and engine paint scheme made a huge difference to the look of each CB1100. And you don't see it, unless you see them side by side. Here come pictures of 2013 standard, DLX, and EX for comparison.
I have tried to find images with neutral background, rather then mountains, lakes, or stunning man made structures. Ignored RS color schemes (not available in the U.S.) or late EX models which simply added a white stripe to the tank.
Which color schemes you like best ?
Early models in red, black and white
or or
EX models from 2017
or or
Final Edition colors in 2020/21
or
You can easily find a collage of many models, different angles of shooting, different backgrounds by going to Startpage.com, type "images CB1100), and select images only in the menu bar after the list of pages shows.
