  O ring chain problem
Posted by: Mixagon_imp - 10-16-2023, 04:14 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (7)

I know there is another O ring thread but I'd really like advice about my chain.

I have a 2017 cb500 with 3k on the clock. The problem is the O ring chain is really stiff even after being well cleaned and lubed, its that stiff its kinked in a few places after it leaves the front sprocket.
I asked the mot guy back in June when he tested and passed the bike and he says a lot of O ring chains are stiff don't worry about it.

Has anyone come across this before and what could be used to free it, I have thought of silicon spray or very thin oil but not sure.

  Fall 2023 photos?
Posted by: pdedse - 10-15-2023, 03:31 AM - Forum: CB1100 Photos & Videos - Replies (117)

I was looking back at some "fall threads", several are from a number of years back, some with non-viewable photos.

Anybody up for a "Fall, 2023 CB1100 centered photo thread"? This might mean pretty leaves in the northern hemisphere, or maybe fall conjures up other images in the southern half. No matter, upload a recent shot if you find something that says "fall" with your CB1100 (or other ride). Add a story if you like.

This twisty road leading up to my neighborhood is a local favorite for senior high school photo shoots, models-in-the-making glamour shots, even some "just married" couples.

  Honda has a new eClutch

Apparently Honda has been developing [url=https://www.advrider.com/honda-e-clutch-makes-life-easier-but-only-if-you-want-it-to/]a new clutch system.

Possible clutch control for DCT users?

Could there be an optional clutch control for DCT users in the near future?

In terms of their offerings, it would be like the affected Honda portfolio would have all grounds covered.

Learning about bikes I've never heard of
Posted by: Gone in 60 - 10-10-2023, 02:55 AM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (2)

The end of my travel season lined up with the start of a trip to France that Mrs. G and her brother had planned months ago to visit friends. While I couldn't go, she's been sending me plenty of pictures, including interesting motorcycles that she's seeing along the way.

It looks very beautiful there, and while some of our European forum members might be familiar with Bullitt and Sirio brand motorcycles, they became Google searches for me. Neat to see and learn about bike brands I've never heard of!

  crazy miles
Posted by: the Ferret - 10-09-2023, 06:30 AM - Forum: Motorcycling - General - Replies (9)

There is a guy over on the ST 1300 forum from Florida, who rides a lot of miles. I mean a lot of miles. He's of course leading the ST forum Mileage Tracker with 48,108 miles for the year so far and his 06 ST 1300 is about to turn over 400,000 miles in the near future. As of today's ride, he's at 393,203 miles, so I'd say by Christmas he will hit the 400K mark on his bike nicknamed "The Black Pearl".
