That you clean your face shield, go out for a ride, and don't get a mile before a bug commits suicide right before your eyes, thereby blocking your vision?

Hi just wanted some ideas on which handlebar risers suit the CB1100 if you can include a link to the web site that would be appreciated

The pictures are of the front brake and clutch reservoir covers. I put the black ones on the 2013 CB since the reservoirs are black, and the red covers on the 2017 CB's reservoirs since the tank is red and reservoirs are silver. They look much nicer than OEM and work just as well, no leaks. A small addition to such a beautiful motorcycle. Got both sets from ebay and they are from China.







I will post a couple better pixs when it stops raining. Here in South Texas, we have been getting rained on for 3 days straight! Cannot complain, the farmers need it.

About 15 years ago, BMW promoted their newly-designed Paralever as having a “lifetime oil fill.” No gear oil changes for the life of the bike. Well, that didn’t work out too well for BMW. A few years later, the bikes again came with drain plugs and a recommended oil change interval.

Yesterday I picked up a used Toro lawnmower and guess what — lifetime oil fill! There’s no drain plug on the lusty Briggs & Stratton and no recommended oil change interval. I don’t think so! For once, I won’t be following the book.

I picked up a 2002 ZRX 1200 in great shape with the original boxy headlight/ fairing included. I owned a green ZRX1100 for 4 yrs and started my touring career on it and covered KY, OH, WV, VA, IN, TN, Smokies, Cherohala skyway, tail of the dragon and sold it in 2006 ..

It was one of my most favorite bike ever so after many other bikes In between 14 yrs later I’m happy to own one again .. If feels like yesterday almost like I never let it go and the ZRXOA forum is fantastic as well.

What a fantastic piece of muscle bike machine in its class. The looks, power, suspension is still amazing !! Looking forward to enjoying many miles and the plan is to gift the CB to my 6 yr old when the time is right. He’s already riding his Oset 16Racing electric trails motorcycle.

I'm seeing that these are the two most popular seat upgrades for our bike, but i'm wondering which one you folks think is best overall for high mileage? They're about the same price.

I have a 2013 CB1100 that I am planning to remove the header and have it Jet Hot or ceramic coated. I have a 17mm deep socket that I am going to cut a slot in in order to accomodate the sensor wire when I remove the O2 sensor from the header. Should I disconnect the sensor from the wiring harness and remove it along with the header or is there enough slack in the wire to allow me to drop the header down far enough to remove the sensor from the header while the sensor is still on the bike? Also can I expect the sensor to unsrew relatively easy from the header or will it be difficult to remove because of the heating and cooling of the header?
Any tips on the removal process will be appreciated.

I've been back and forth lately on what direction to take my CB next. I've found myself in search of an added safety aspect to my daily motorcycling. I realize that as much as I love the CB it is still built like an obsolete bike. It does not have ABS, it has a relatively low fuel capacity for its displacement, it has a relatively less effective suspension in its stock format. We all know there are many other things about the bike that don't quite stand up to modern standards (and it was never intended to, that's part of its charm).

So, in order to act as a counterpoint to the idea of purchasing a secondary sport-touring variety motorcycle to act as a primary commuter with modern safety and creature comforts, i've decided to explore the idea of spending all that money on making improvements to my CB instead. Thus, as a thought experiment i'm posting here to collect ideas on the best/most comprehensive improvements I can make to a 2014 CB1100 Std. with approximately $2500 cash available.

Some options that have interested me so far:

** fuel capacity : $900 (tank off a '14 DLX) increase my capacity to 4.6 gallons. edit: alternatively if i could find a Whitehouse K10 tank on the forum for cheap that would be 4.7 gallons! but i'm not gonna pay 2000 bucks for one new.

** ABS: This is kind of up in the air...I tend to think that If i can purchase a salvage/crashed bike with all the necessary parts undamaged i can get away with this for about $1500. It's not going to be easy to find a crashed '17 though, unless somebody knows of a resource.

** suspension improvements (front and rear): the cost here is probably more than $2500 if i go to the top end. I would appreciate it if anybody can point me toward some front and rear suspension improvements that would make a real difference for less than $1500.

** Seat: K&H solo or Mid Double seat to improve comfort : $600

** Wheels: Converting to spoked wheels would allow me to swap tire sizes and mount the better tires on the market that I currently don't have access to. I can't speak to the cost of this. It may be something that has to go hand in hand with the ABS change, since part of that could potentially involve using the '17 wheels.

** LED headlamp. I'm lost on this one. I imagine it's just a matter of adding an LED component and using the LED lamp off the newest models, but I don't know for sure. anybody that knows more about doing this please chime in.

** heated grips: $150 (oxford heaterz!)

Edit** accessory power connectors!! $50. being able to plug in a GPS and other powered accessories like heated gear is an upgrade i've wanted to make for a long while.

Obviously I can't do all of these at once, but it's worth thinking about the various options that are out there. What about all of you? if you had $2500 to spend improving your CB, what would you do?

Ha ha!! Couple of days ago I received my new helmet (actually my wife's). I have never been so glad of buying a helmet. It is nice and light. I just can not stop looking at it...



Very quiet at high speeds and with european homologation, a good warranty of safety. Made of thermoplastic but I have to say that some thermoplastic helmets are rated 5 SHARP stars when some fiber ones have only 2. Only 144€ but probably it can be found even cheaper.



The overall quality does not seem very good, forehead zone not really comfortable and the lower strap is closer to my throat than to my chin (I have to say that its rather small for me, its my wifes). Even though its my favourite helmet ever. I will end buying one of these for my own, and it won't be long.
