Hey guys, I was holding off on the set of front rotors that were warped on my cb because they cost so much... been keeping my eye open and found a seller on ebay selling the pair of our rotors for 145$. For the price I ordered them and they came in. Look identical to ours, apparently they're 420 steel on the outer ring and aluminum on the inner according to their specs they're oem. I just messaged the seller to see what kind of pads they suggest. Figured someone else on here might need a good deal on rotors so here ya go.

I've searched and can't seem to find this specific issue (only discussion about RPM-specific buzzing).

Basically any time I go over a harsh bump, drop down out of my driveway, etc., there is a pretty loud rattling noise coming from the front portion of the bike.

At first I thought it may have been my tool kit (I have a few extra things in there) above the battery, but the problem persists when riding without it. It could be coming from the dash, but it's hard to isolate when you're at speed with a helmet on, and it does seem to be from somewhere lower.

I can't seem to replicate the noise by banging on anything (gauges, horns, headlight, oil cooler, etc.).

Anyone had this issue? Is this just part of the gauges being soft-mounted?

While working on the HONDA emblem fitment,



I noticed a broken wire to one horn. No corrosion at all, just snapped:




Crimped and reinstalled new connector:





Tested operation of both horns = OK. Easy, peasy. Can tell you that one horn is very loud, two are ears killer, good safety and warning feature.
The funny thing is that, I used my horns twice during my today's trip and did not notice any malfunction..."thanks" to my perfect ear plugs.

Part number 90127-MCJ-750 is described as "Bolt, Hook, 8 x 42" There are 4 of them that hold the little rail (described as 'garnish') under the rear of the seat.

I use a top box and the rack to which it's attached does not allow the use of the OEM bolt as it's about 17mm too short.

Does anyone have any idea where I might get a longer version of the Bolt, Hook or even a fitting I could put over a similar sized bolt to serve the same purpose?

So some of you have been witness to my deliberations over the past couple of weeks. This is what i ended up with:





It's a 2013 Triumph Tiger 800, only 6200 miles on it. I took some of your advice concerning triumph triples, some of your advice questioning whether traction control was strictly necessary, and came up with what i think was the fairest compromise for the money. After riding 130 miles home yesterday and another 60 or so 2 up with my wife today i can say that i've made a fine choice. This bike is peppy, easily as fast as my CB, but gets far better mileage and range. The ABS has a far shorter stopping distance than my CB, and protects me from emergencies. The bike is rugged and protected, lacking only some engine guards which are easy to get. it's got plenty of wind protection and i intend to increase that a bit with some hand guards for the winter. This is a highly advantageous commuter and versatile in other ways to boot.

I'm safer, more comfortable, and better equipped to handle the day, while the CB can now relax and focus on more fun roads and not traffic hell.

I’m thinking about getting a modular helmet.
I’d love to hear about your experience with them.

Has anyone successfully imported a CB1100 from Canada to the US? (or any other bike, for that matter) I wonder if it is a matter of patience with paperwork, or downright impossible. --Tom (in humid Miami)

Hi everyone, I ask you, if you have had the opportunity to try it or use it, an opinion on the Guzzi V9.
I am also evaluating this to replace the CB 1100 which for me and my wife is too uncomfortable (absurd angulation of the knees) and in the end I never use it.
on the engine I would have no doubts being a Guzzi, but how comfortable are we? I haven't been able to try it yet.
California would be ideal but I don't want to add too much money.
I also tried the V7 and Boneville T120 both much more comfortable than the CB (it doesn't take much).
To date, the number 1 candidate for replacement is V7. But I'm also thinking about this V9.

So, the CB is all serviced and ready to go. I have been out on a couple of day rides now. But the weather man has snow predicted for Monday, with an overnight low of 35-37 degrees. No seat time for this guy, the CB will stay in the stable for a while longer and I will be driving the "Beast" of a pick-up truck for a couple days.....
