Every now and then you take a chance and buy some cheap made in China thing and more often than not it sucks but every now and then it's really good. I bought this windshield extender for $23 on Amazon (instead of $100+ from Puig) and it's a quality product with decent results. It cuts down on low frequency buffeting (doesnt eliminate it) a fair amount and keeps a lot more bugs off! It is height adusable, it tilts, easy to adjust and has a rock solid hold. It comes clear nd smoke...I bought clear because it disappears a bit. Heres pics and a link:

Since I bought my 2014 CB1100DX, I have planned a summer adventure of some type in the 5000 to 6000 mile range. All have been fun, except for last years 5000 mile Aug/Sept western states ride … rider got hot and run down (the return ride down the I-5 wiped me out because of Labor Day traffic and heat). This year was thinking about a San Diego to Key West trip via I-10 (2800 miles one way) because … no good reason other than I haven't been there and it sounds like a cool future memory. Anyway, some family/friends who have been there said its seems like just a hot/humid/inclimate ride that would not be fun. Anybody familiar with I-10 and Florida riding?

I know i've seen at least some of you mention that you own or have owned Connies, so i'm asking the group for a generalized opinion on the bike as a workhorse, touring machine, and overall purchase value. I have an opportunity to get a 2008 with only 4500 miles on it, and despite the bike being 12 years old it appears to be in slamming good condition. If everything is as it seems, I want to know what owners of the bike think in realistic terms.

* What would be the real difference between a 2008 and a 2019 model Concours in terms of features and benefits? all the research i've done seems to suggest that there is almost no measurable difference. the bike hasn't been redesigned in 15 years.

* What's the most you'd pay for a 2008 connie with 4500 miles on it?

* What should i look out for on a concours that appears to have spent most of the last 12 years not being ridden?

* If my goal is to get a good, safe, satisfying sport touring motorcycle, what should i shop for instead?

Memorial Day weekend I fell upon a !982 KZ1000 LTD with only 16,000 (one Owner) miles. Everything is original except for tires, battery, and the fact the previous owner had the fuel tank professionally painted and clear coated as well as the leather Saddleman seat. Very little rust hear and there and I have already disassembled most of the bike for complete detailing.

Bike starts easy (with choke when cold) and performed perfectly on the way home with test speeds up to 80mph.

My 3rd bike, purchased new as a teen was a 1975 Kawasaki 900 in beautiful Candy Blue metallic. Unfortunately someone lifted it from me a little after one year of ownership.

Looking at getting gators for my CB, and Honda and Kawa ones seem really expensive, especially here in Australia with the exchange rate.

Looks like the Triumph Bonneville ones are the cheapest to get here but only saw one reference to them in the threads.

My mate has a Bonney and I took some caliper measurements and the forks seem the same dimensions at the top and bottom of the gator. The gator however has a small ridge on the bottom inside edge that sits in a slot on his fork. Do all gators have this? I could grind it off gently I guess

Anyone have experience with the Triumph ones or know of an Australian suplier of 'cheaper' Honda or Kawa ones. or know if the Honda and kawa ones have a ridge on the inside as well?

On Saturday, the California governor announced that churches, retail stores and offices can go back to business if they feel that they are ready, and if they follow guidelines. I've been back to my normal commute since May 12, and my freeway, which is normally bumper-to-bumper, has been running at full speed.

Over the last week, traffic has been slowly creeping back, but I figured that with the weekend announcement of reopening, traffic this morning would be much heavier. It was, running probably about 70% of normal, with areas of wide open, then quickly slowing to a crawl in several places.

A lot of people clearly hadn't gotten back into the regular commuting mindset yet. Some angry driving, some stupid moves. It will require full situational awareness for quite a while until people get back to their normal levels of anger and stupidity.

Is there any adjustment to lower the rear brake lever in order to keep my big foot off the brake when riding? When I first purchased my 2014 new, it only took about a week for the rear rotor to cup and cause the rear wheel to bind. Honda said I was "riding the brake" but replaced the rotor at no charge. I had the lever heated and bent downward but we went too far. Now that I am able to ride again, I bought a new lever and plan to install it today. My question is this: Is there any adjustment to change the height of the brake lever so my big foot will not touch the lever until I need to brake?
