  Parts Inventory List
Posted by: bflint - 05-17-2020, 04:10 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (14)

I love my 2014 CB1100 Deluxe, but at 42K I am noticing some wear like the plastic stuff fading, etc. Assume that everything wears (ha ha), so decided in would be prudent to start buying/storing key parts that the CB1100 might need in the future (2024 or 100K, which ever comes first). Don't want to rely on EBAY etc in the future. You folks have any suggestions on what to add to my list besides all the plastic stuff? Regards … an overly concerned rider Smile

So, I rolled the CB out of the garage yesterday, gave it a bath in the grass, and to dry it off I went on a putt around the block. That felt so good I kept going and continued on for a bit more. Idaho temp. was about 45 F at the time, no jacket or gloves. Surprised myself with a run of about an hour on the back roads near my place. Cold as ice but just didn't want to quit. We have views of the Tetons to the east and the Sawtooth to the west. A quick lap around St. Anthony and then knock on it back to the Ranch. Really, really missed getting out and enjoying the very best bike I've ever owned. My first CB was a junk yard rescue, the cruisers were ok, and the Goldwing was a beast, but my CB is just right Goldie Locks!

  Removing stock rack on 2014
Posted by: quiffy_imp - 05-16-2020, 08:01 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (10)

I bought a used 2014 standard recently and it came with a Honda luggage rack.
I’m thinking about removing it and I’m wondering if I need to get shorter bolts or will the longer bolts cause any issues.
Thanks.

  First decent ride in months.
Posted by: Tezza_imp - 05-16-2020, 06:05 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

Completed a 243km ride today with a few club members. We are allowed to go 150km from home now so I had a chance to bed in the new tires, sprockets and chain. I put a couple of Dunlop Arrowmax on one size larger than stock and they seem to handle really well. I have added a map of our travels and a pic of my mates recently acquired R100 CS Beema.

  Puig Vision Windscreen
Posted by: Interceptor Pilot_imp - 05-16-2020, 03:09 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (5)

I'm interested in this windscreen and have found it offered at Cycle Gear and other places online, but they specify model years as 14/15 and that it's non-compatible with a 17 EX. However, on a UK site it shows fitting all years of CB1100.

Curious to know if anyone has installed one, or has any knowledge about whether it will fit a 17.

  contact tracing - avoid COVID19

Hi guys:

I think these links are quite informative and worth sharing:

https://ncase.me/contact-tracing/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D__UaR5MQao

Basically, they explain how it is possible to have a contact tracing app to stop Covid19 spread while also keep our privacy intact.

  SW-Motech ION 7L-15L Tail Bag
Posted by: TXBikerGuy - 05-15-2020, 09:57 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (8)

I'm trying really hard to break 40+ years of motorcycle farkling behaviors with my CB1100EX. This bike is supposed to be my "old fashioned" bike that I ride to enjoy myself and bring back memories of being 16 yrs old, riding a CB550K with no money to buy accessories.

But, a guy has to have a place to stash some stuff. I opted for this little tailbag from SW-Motech. https://www.twistedthrottle.com/sw-motec...-15l-small Straps onto the back of the seat with attached velcro straps (also comes with 4 straps to mount to other spots if desired.)

7L of capacity shown here. Expands to 15L if unzipped around the bottom. It's SW-Motech, so yeah...it's not cheap. But I like how it looks and it seems to be very functional.

  Motorcycle accident
Posted by: LongRanger_imp - 05-14-2020, 11:48 PM - Forum: Motorcycling - General - Replies (11)

While riding my motorcycle I swerved to avoid hitting a deer, lost control and landed in a ditch, severely banging my head.

Dazed and confused I crawled out of the ditch to the edge of the road when a shiny new convertible driven by a very beautiful woman stopped and she asked, "Are you okay?

As I looked up, I noticed she was wearing a low-cut blouse with cleavage to die for. "I'm okay I think," I replied as I pulled myself up to the side of the car to get a closer look.

She said, "Get in and I'll take you to my home and I'll clean and bandage that nasty scrape on your head."

"That's nice of you," I answered, "But I don't think my wife will like me doing that!"

"Oh, come now, I'm a nurse," she insisted. "I need to see if you have any more injuries and then treat them properly."

Well, she was really pretty and very persuasive. Being sort of shaken and weak, I agreed, but repeated, "I'm sure my wife won't like this."

We arrived at her place which was just few miles away and, after a couple of cold beers and the bandaging, I thanked her and said, "I feel a lot better, but I know my wife is going to be really upset so I'd better go now."

Don't be silly!" she said with a smile. "Stay for a while. She won't know anything. By the way, where is she?"

"My guess is she's still in the ditch."

Maybe a Zanesville Rally one day?
Posted by: Inhouse Bob - 05-14-2020, 10:41 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (12)

I got my on-line RoadRUNNER Magazine today and they did a write-up of rides around Zanesville, Ohio. I've driven by but never stopped. It looks like a nice area for a rally. Mr. Ferret, is this anywhere near you? Your thoughts? Here is a link to the Chamber of Commerce's motorcycle maps...
