Getting all ready for my first ride of the season tomorrow. Was supposed to be a little chilly so I was going to gear up and go for it. The weather man says not so fast cause tonight's overnight temp. will be 35 degrees F and the SNOW starts at about 7 am in the morning! Hoping it will stop, not stick and melt by the afternoon or I will wait for another day.......Oh well....

After having a valve stem developing a leak and a subsequent sudden loss of all air pressure and the bead separating from the rim, I decided to find a good tps system.
This unit holds a charge for about a month, and the battery in each sensor should last for a year.
The monitor shows both tire pressure and temperature.
It has settings for both high and low pressures.

At the end of a ride the unit automatically shuts down.

Hi folks, I couldn’t find a nice summary for this so I thought I would ask.

I’m considering purchasing a secondhand 2016 CB1100A (with ABS) from a local dealer but wanted to get insight into anything specific to look at. I know the general items to look at when buying a used bike but not specific items for a CB1100 with ABS.

Appreciate any insights.

I went for a reasonable ride today—a bit over 400 kms. The bike ran fine until I was on the way home when it felt like the engine cut out. The revs dropped for a moment, less than a second. The HISS, engine and oil temperature lights all came on, but went out after perhaps a second.

It happened a number of times on the way home, mostly at a round 3,500 RPM but at least twice when I was backing off the throttle. On those occasions, I had a faint sensation that it was holding the revs a little high. But, like the perceived cut out, it was very brief. In both circumstances, less than a second.

At all other times the bike ran normally. It has oil. It was a very cool day. I guess it could be fuel, but I'm not sure why that would cause the dash lights to come on.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I’ve seen a couple of pair valve mod jobs and figured I’d offer up another option for those who are interested. I will add that this is pretty simple and straight forward. This kit will run you $45 usd.

The kit has billet block offs plus the necessary hardware
1 cap to plug off the inlet into the air box
1 plug for the harness so you don’t toss a CEL

1. Pull the seat
2. Pull both side covers
3. Pull tank by removing the vent tube and disconnecting the fuel line (Don’t forget step 2 because the black connector is the fuel pump)
4. Under the neck, locate the air pump and unplug it
5. Use the supplied bypass plug and tuck everything under the harness
6. Remove the pump assy.
7. Pull all the related hoses. The longest hose runs to the airbox where you will use the supplied cap to plug it off. It helps to have the covers off.
8. Remove the oem pair covers.
9. I opted to gut the reeds but use the rubber bodies to help with sealing.
10. Reinstall tank and plug fuel pump back in. Be sure to prime the system to make sure you have no leaks.
11. Install side covers and seat. Done

Who’s gone and taken the plunge and put holes in the yoshi full exhaust to extract a few more db’s out the system? I’m preparing to put about six or eight holes in mine but on the fence about the outcome. I love the look of the pipe but need a bit more sound. I’m not interested in the no baffle rattle can jangalang stuff. Only looking for minor increase.

Hey guys, been searching around the web to find a stock seat for my 2014 dlx. Definitely don't want one of those smooth seats as they don't look nice. Found a deal right now for a seat but its a Cb1100e.. anyone know if that'll work on my 2014 dlx? Was thinking it would but might need some spacers of some sort?

Forgot to mention the seller didn't post a picture so I'm attempting to track down whether or not the 1100e seat looks similar to the Dlx..

I'm sure that many of us have noticed that, with so many people huddling at home, food deliveries from GrubHub, Uber Eats, etc have increased dramatically.

All of this means several more distracted drivers on the road with eyes glued to phone screens following GPS directions to unfamiliar addresses. They aren't professional drivers, and they are in a hurry to get where they're going before the food gets cold.

This is a road hazard we all need to watch out for. I've become more attenuated to drivers slowing down and speeding up, swerving, hands poking at dash-mounted phones, and making all manner of visual actions to indicate that they are concentrating more on what their phone is showing than what their windshield is showing.

Getting off of the freeway near my office this morning, I was following a car at a safe distance. As the single-lane ramp opened up to a two-lane street, the car went to the right lane, so I went to the left lane. I was in a passing position, but saw the car brake for no obvious reason mid-block, and saw a hand go up to the phone on the dash. I backed off, and sure enough, the car dove to the left in front of me, and went into a left turn lane for an IKEA store that has been shuttered since March.

As I passed the car, now stopped to my left, I looked into the window, and saw several brown bags stapled shut in the back seat. Just as I figured, food delivery in an unfamiliar neighborhood. The guy's phone probably barked "turn left", but he dove over a block too early. As I passed, he gave me a startled look, realizing that he didn't know I was there when he dove over.

Be careful and watch for these guys! There are a lot more of them out there.

I got a price to ceramic coat my headers to a chrome like look and the guy asked if I had a cat on the headers, he said if it didnt he could coat both the outside and inside.
Got me thinking to the posibility of removing the internals of the cat somehow and wondered if anyone had done this and how hard it may be?

Alternatively I thought of having the cat cut off and welding a straight stainless tube in its place before the ceramic coating.... any thoughts ? benefits or otherwise?
