Hi guys, I’m a newbie to this forum, I live in South Wales and have been riding bikes since I was 16. Currently riding a Suzuki 650 VStrom but I am seriously considering a new CB1100EX.
Which kinda brings me to my first advice question, would it be wise to buy the said motorcycle without a test ride (due to lockdown restrictions in Wales) or should I wait? The biggest bike I’ve ridden was my Honda CBF1000 which I liked but it became problematic, so I part exchanged it for the Suzuki.
Any advice would be most welcome, and thanks for this great forum.
Cheers,
John

Just lost a good friend to a crash. I don't need condolences I just need you guys to stay safe. Ride within limits, head on a swivel, make it home.
Gone in 60's new avatar is so fitting. 2020 sucks.

I have finally put my bike back together after my accident. Put about 50 miles on it and have an issue. The bike tracks to the left when I let go of the handlebars. I have done the alignment procedures three times per Delboys you tube videos. Checked rear axle alignment also everything’s up to spec. I plan to take it to a dealership unless someone on this forum may have a tip I maybe missing.

Had my first ride on the CB 1100 yeaterday.
My first impressions were :
The bike is easy to ride
Engine great
Sounds beautiful
Brakes Good
Power adequate
Riding position seems ok need to do a longer ride before i make any changes
Suspension could do with some improvement although i'm yet to play around with the settings
Overall the bike is a typical Honda and im expecting that typical Honda reliability will follow

| CB1100 Maximum Lean Angle = Scooter's lean angle |

Just some experiments on Stock CB1100 lean Angle. From what I found, stock CB1100 maximum lean angle is almost equal to a scooter at 40-41 degree, before the foot peg start touching the road. Well, my weight might be a factor, but I believe it wouldn't be too much off even if i shred a few KGs. I remember watching some youtube video comparison between retro design bike and CB is the least sportier of the lots. I think most cruiser had about this lean angle as well. So maybe CB is meant to be cruiser competitor??
