What's the technique for removing a Pinlock insert without ruining it?

Just returned from a trip to visit the resting place of my Great Uncle who was killed shortly after the Normandy Landing

Ok so I pulled my forks apart, new seals and oil plus PD valve and back together.
It was a relatively straight forward job. I banged the collar and seals back in with the ol' plastic pipe and clamp trick, (Delboys video) which worked a treat.

So Ive never set up the static sag before and after watching a number of videos went through the process as explained simply below.

I weigh about 90kg

The only way I could achieve the desired 30mm of sag both front and rear with me on the bike was to dial everything to its maximum. Also after a normal casual ride the zip ties on the front forks move 90mm which suggest the forks are bottoming out at some stage on the ride.

I'm interested if others have done their static sag settings? and zip tie experiment?

I might try playing around with oil levels in the front forks to see what difference that makes, but looks like I will probably need 'heavier guage' springs to stop the bottoming out.

Also the bumps are more noticable with everything dialed up which is not good either.

I didnt really notice it before but now that my attention is focused on the suspension when Im riding and evaluating every bump, my opinion of the stock suspension has decreased dramatically.

2/5 guys I ride with just upgraded to the Sena 50 mesh coms.

From what I understand they have an upgrade program where you can trade in your old Sena for some credit on your purchase.

The mesh is suppose to connect automatically with better range etc than Bluetooth.

But you are limited on Bluetooth connections.

My warning or advice is if you have an integrated SRL Sena like I have on my Shoei Neotech ll you can't upgrade to the mesh system.

The best you can do is get an adapter that pairs your Bluetooth with the adapter and the adapter pairs with the mesh system.

This adapter (looks like a little walkietalkie) has to be mounted in best line of sight to the other coms... like to top of helmet, handle bar etc and cost $100.

I'm disappointed my 1-2 year old $300 com can't be upgrade without this clunky adapter but that's just the way it goes I guess.

So if you're thinking about getting a helmet with an integrated com you might want to think twice if you want the mesh system.

Just purchased a beautiful 14' STD and was curious about adding an oil pressure gauge to keep an eye on things. Does anyone know of an oil galley plug I can remove to install one or better yet, a way to tap into an oil cooler lines. Just curious.

Hello C Bers it been a while since I have posted. Been getting my rides in regularly. I have noticed now that on freeway 75 to 80. Holding steady. It has been stumbling , I wanted to think it was gusty winds. Any chance someone else has experienced the same. I have already been down with the idle problems it hasn’t happened in years now. My only cure has been ride it harder... lol. Thank you hope all are safe and well !!

I noticed it before, but now, as I "lost" my center stand, I think that the side stand on my bike is really 5 cm (2 inches) too short. It works but I do not find it very secure, and certainly not if the ground is uneven, soft, or the bike is parked on a slope (with the left/stand side down).
