I have a ticking noise, when you roll on the throttle in any gear at 1500 rmp to 2500, you can hear a ticking noise. I suspect the valves needs adjusted. Bike only have 1200 miles on it.

Am I correct in thinking the valves need adjusted?

Just got the right day to try out the CB with the latest upgrade, a Power Commander 5.
Heavy Autumn rains have cleared with a blue sky, 26 degrees C and The National Park twisties and coast road only 20 minutes away.

The CB was already impressive but now it feels like it has a big electric motor with power on tap from ridiculously low revs right up to redline.

No more hesitation at low revs, no jerky throttle in slow roundabots, smooth exits from those tight corners, cruise or play on one machine. Truly amazing.

This modification is worth every cent and the puzzle getting that tank off.

I haven't seen anyone with this fairing yet, so I thought I would post mine:

Inspired by Ferret and others, I decided that the CB1100 as shipped was incomplete without the little rubber lever end thingies so, armed with the part number
(Part # 95010-16001 qty1 per package.), I went along to a Honda dealer in Brisbane when I was visiting a fortnight or so ago. I was told they'd have to be imported.

Well, they were, and they arrived yesterday when, by a stroke of fortune, I was in Brisbane again so I went and picked them up.

Those levers look pretty bare don't they?

They were truly awful to put on. Good trick getting your dealer to do it, Ferret. I beat them into submission by giving them a bath in near boiling water, squirting a dribble of WD40 onto the knob and then whipping them on while they were hot and supple.

I'm now a very happy camper.

I am a big guy at 6'1" and 250lbs and built like an over-the-hill NFL linebacker. To top it off, my shoe size is 13EEEE and I have high insteps. My glove size is 12 and some XXL gloves will not fit. I have trouble buying motorcycle gear to fit.

I have found that First Gear jackets in XXL fit good and are decent quality. Have also owned Tourmaster. My Hein Gericke leather jacket has held up for 15 years but is now very tired and no longer imported. I really like the new Klim Overland jacket and may buy one. Expensive but very nice.

I have Held, First Gear and Olympia gloves, all in the largest sizes available. Held summer weight gloves are great but expensive. Olympia winter gloves have held up very well. Have several pairs of Olympia gloves that have all been good. Deerskin light summer gloves are very comfortable.

I have a pumpkin shaped (round) head. I have ARAI helmets but like the SHOEI Qwest helmets for fitting my round head. Also have a SHOEI open face which I like when riding behind a full fairing on a hot day. My next helmet will be a SHOEI Qwest.

My biggest problem is finding waterproof motorcycle boots to fit my very wide feet and high insteps. I have a set of Cruiserworks boots that fit, with side zips. Well made and truly waterproof but uncomfortable to walk in. Sidi Way boots are nice, but not quite wide enough for me. Any ideas on super wide boots will be appreciated.

One last thought. I have purchased several items at Revzilla. Fast delivery, good customer support and no hassle returns.

The first thing I did when I got a chance, was to remove the large license bracket. Thanks Chip for sharing. Everyone thinks it looks much better now. I hope to get my tag in the mail soon and I will get a thinner black frame for tag.

Hey. I am learning how to post pictures using tapatalk and thought I would practice by using some pics from my gallery on my smart phone. Here are some photos of my 2007 dr650se. It has been a great and fun commuter for my 66 mile round trip to work. I rode rain or shine during most of April through November. She can cruise pretty comfortable at 70 mph but anything over that is really wound out and very vibey. Not too comfortable for a passenger, although my girlfriend has ridden on back on some group rides of around 200 miles each. She finds the cb1100 to be way more comfortable. The bike has served me well, but the cb seems to be a better commuter and all around bike. Here are some pics of the bike.
