great bag to carry gloves, lunch to work, soda, polish and rags, owners manuals, tire guage, etc..... also can remove easily with built in bungee cords and built in rain cover. Zipper at base to expand storage by about 2" if needed. A great bag for daily use for commuting to work. I have also folded my thermal hunting suit up flat and place laguna bag on top, then attach the built in bungee cords as usual ,for when cold in the mornings but too hot to wear thermal suit on the way home in the evening. This bag will also work great as an extra bag along with a luggage rack ,which I hope to have soon. The dealer threw the bag in free when I bought the bike. The bag retails for $100.

Well, not my idea (I'm borrowing it from my other forum) but why not post up pics of your rides while out on the road and have one place to put them. Common sense rules, no driveway pics, no friends driveway, no gas station or other commercial lots. Let's reach for the scenic view whether it be mountains, rivers, valleys, or that early morning landfill shot with the steam rising off the pile of garbage. Just be out on the road and pulled over somewhere safe when getting that artistic shot!

I started mentioning this in a different thread but basically I went through pre ride checks, oil is new from recent change with the first service last fall, just pulled out of storage, I let the bike warm up and to me sounds okay.

It did just have it's first service last fall, new oil and all but the oil looks like it is near the lower reading on the sight glass, when checked while on the center stand. Could it just be low oil? When cold should the sight glass be near the low end or to end? Especially after just having the first servicing done?

Would you take it back to the dealership to have them check the oil since the only miles since servicing was the three miles to get the bike home? Not worry about it and ride it like I stole it and how it writers down, what? I don't have the disposable income to throw away on this, the bike is my daily rider in the spring summer and fall... The car gets parked and not driven.

Then the sound that sounds like I am riding on flat tires but I know I am not as I just filled the tires up to 36 and 42 yesterday... Wonder if dirt between the pads and brake disc might make that sound?

Has anyone found shorter rear shocks or a lowering block for the rear?I would like to drop the front and the back just about an inch,life is hard somtimes at 5-5.

I've been searching for a plastic peel & stick 3D emblem similiar in size to the "CB1100" emblem that is on our side panels but saying "HONDA" instead. Preferably new.

A search of EBAY shows a lot of tank badges and decals, mostly vintage. OEM parts searches are fairly tedious. It's one thing if you have a part number, but every emblem I've seen is bike specific.

Is anyone aware of a Honda bikes that have 3" to 4" long "Honda" emblems designed for a flat or slightly curved surfaces?

It would go on the back of my sissy bar.

I seem to recall a thread about a spongy rear brake problem that was solved by bleeding the brake. Well, it seems the front brakes can benefit from that as well. I installed a set of Gen-Mar risers (1 inch up, 1 3/8 back) and I had to reposition the front brake line to get enough slack. That required disconnecting the line at the master cylinder and routing it behind the triple-tree. In the process of bleeding the brake, I had to also bleed the line by applying the brake and slightly opening the line connection at the master cylinder to get the air out at that connection. Having done that and having bleed the calipers as well, I was amazed at how much firmer the front brake felt. I never would have felt a need to do that if I hadn't moved the line but now that I have, I'm quite pleased with the result. Just say'in.

I'm guessing we'll see a disproportionate vote for a certain cherry colour here..

I won't pick up my new 2014 CB1100 DLX until next Saturday, but why don't we start a thread that shows a picture of the bike (and us...) on the day we picked it up (perhaps at the dealer). I know there's a few new 2014 owners this week, perhaps they can post their photos here and we can add new ones as they get delivered.
Let's give it a shot...could be fun.
