i have swapped the fact exhaust for a moto gp headers no cat with small muffler ,, not much baffling.
i like the sound and performance of the system. after 4000 rpm the acceleration is very responsive, up till the 4000 it has a sort off lag or wind up. and i do like the snap crackle pop on deceleration from the pipe but im sure the mixture is off now im wondering if anyone has tried the power commander with autotune sensor and if it would make a big enough improvement.
the thread about flashing the ecu had me interested as well but sounds untested so far.
im not real concerned with defeating the speed limiter, im more concerned in getting there fast and getting the most out of her.

A way to provide some kind of security to your passenger without spending a bundle... I started with a Hurricane grab rail from Web Bike in Japan. It was shipped here to Wisconsin within a week. I then found this backrest (pad only) on Ebay for about $15. Combined them to make a modest but effective backrest/grabrail combo for about $125.
Not a cross-country solution but great for short trips around town with a passenger on the back.

Just pulled the collection of beauties together in one spot after the long winter. I find I am having an embarrassment of riches. How can I justify this hobby to my wife? Well, my wife's father had a very messy collection of real horses that took an awful lot of work. I tell her these are my horses...my "iron horses". They don't take up much space, or make a lot of noise, I don't have to clean up after them and they don't smell funny. She gets it.

Can these be moved back a couple inches in some clever way.
Soft bags on board made it a tight fit for the wife to use pegs comfortably.
Any ideas would be helpful

Ok, so after a lifetime of striving for the 'fastest' or the ' sweetest handling' or the 'oohscarybigenginest' bike I could afford to insure I decided I wanted a change. Being over forty and having a different set of priorities to when in my twenties and early thirties, I wanted to CALM DOWN.
I Started looking for something different, something to break the mould from a life of Japanese inline four cyclones rev monsters.
First it was singles; KTM Duke 390? Nah, too weedy. KTM Duke 690? Nah too singley,
Then it was twins; Moto Guzzi V7? Nah, too small, Ducati Monster 1100? No too hooligan!!
I swung back and forth and eventually admitted I had bought mostly inline fours from Japan for a good reason, they are bloody brilliant!!
So all I needed was one with good looks, a sensible riding ergo, not too wimpy looking, with a nice smooth, tractable engine. And here I am.......
ONLY TO FIND...most of you seem to be more like teenagers than ME! You're all obsessed with beating this damn restrictor so you don't have to be late everywhere due to your max corner speed of a paltry 115mph.
You all want to 'release the beast', 'nurse the pony', whip the stallion, whatever.
I applaud the mischievous intent, but come on guys you're ruining my speed demon retirement plan! Since I've been reading these 'speed limiter' threads I've been shuffling around in my Schott flight jacket with Ray Ban aviators on singing 'Hiiiighhhway to the DANGERZONE' and high fiving people in shops, howling "I feel the need, the need for SPEED!!"
So come on guys, answer me this:
HOW OFTEN DO YOU INTEND TO EXCEED 115 mph?

| Cost of the EX |

A thread on the UK forum advised that the cost of the CB1100 EX in the UK is ₤9,999.00. On today's exchange rates that's ~US$16,500 or ~AUD$18,000, although there's no guarantee that's how Honda would price it in either country. The 2010 and 2011 standard CB1100s were priced at ~AUD$15,000 which, I suspect, is one of the reasons they were not big sellers in Australia. I guess that's why we're not seeing the EX down under.
