Custom slip on (need confirmation of no power commander)
Posted by: Joel Goodson_imp - 04-02-2014, 10:06 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (2)

I don't like any of the slip on options currently available. I'd like to fabricate my own flange/pipe and add a pretty standard reverse cone style muffler.

I've read some contradictory comments on here.

Basically, my question is this.... After I fabricate this, do I need any kind of tuning? I don't think a basic slip on will lean things out too much at all, but was hoping to get some solid info.

A quick ride in beautiful Autumn weather
Posted by: VicsCB1100_imp - 04-02-2014, 08:20 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (16)

Summer is hot here in Australia and living on the cost means watersports are often a more pleasant choice. Autumn riding weather in Sydney brings out bikes in droves. Even mid week. The days are milder and you can put that leather on without sweating too much.

Tuesday and Wednesday this week were simply too good to pass up. around 25 degrees C light sea breezes an blue sky. So off to the nearby Royal National Park and South Coast.

This is a mix of low speed twisties through a cool rainforest and cruising along high sea cliffs and beaches.
Mid way is a lookout where dozens of bikes can be found most days of the week. This week it looks like a few workplaces may have been down some staff because it was packed.

Check out some iphone images below.

Seriously considering moving from my beloved Triumph Street triple R onto a 14 Cb1100 DLX. I'm 53, recovering from a rear brake lock-up (my bad), which resulted in a high-side crash. I was in the North ga mountains (on my Bonneville T-100) when i wrecked. I've had a difficult recovery (complications), which makw me think i just want to slow down and ride more conservatively and comfortably from here on out. I think the CB1100 would be perfect. Can anyone compare thw two?
... I don't expect to be in riding consition till Jul-Aug timeframe.

Please clarify: Can you get the 2014 (6-speed) black bike w/ ABS? ... Or is the ABS only available in the ' Delux' package in which case you can only get red?
I'd love the 4 into 2 exhaust with ABS in all black... No can do, uh?...

I'm sure most of you already have a fork brace installed, but I put mine on last night after a two hour ride on PCH. Very nice fit and easy to install. $139.00 plus tax. Happy happy... :-)
