  2014 CB1000R

Wow, Honda really did a nice job tweaking the CB1000R this year! Check this out:

I want one. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, no doubt... one total Hooligan Honda, one sober and responsible Environmentally and Socially Responsible Honda...

Probably $8k to insure the damn thing.

Thought I would start a thread on this accessory since most people have or want one. I just received a Nelson Rigg CL-1060 and think it fits and looks great on the CB1100, it's probably made for short or local trips, not high volume over night camping. I did not like their mounting straps so just went with 2 simple bungee cords as shown in below picture.

Revzilla did a price match of $60 for me.

  Tank Pad

Does anyone have the Honda (or aftermarket) tank protection pad installed? If so, can you provide a photo? I'm not necessarily a fan of them, but I want to avoid the jacket scratches on the tank that are so common...the CB tank is too beautiful to mark up! Greatly appreciate any photos.

Ok. So sent my rail and light to my fab shop in detroit that specializes in custom auto test parts.
Going to have it made to be inspired by the factory design and look as honda original as possible.
Directing them to make it to be somewhat universal so we can perhaps offer on the open market for you and others. Post pics when complete. And pricing.

RE: Staintune Slip-on Exhausts on CB1100DLX?
Posted by: EatChikeen_imp - 04-03-2014, 06:29 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (10)

Dear Sirs & Madams:

I am considering installing Staintune Slip-on exhausts once I commit to buy a CB1100 Deluxe.

I've seen videos of the regular CB1100s with Staintune but not on the Deluxe model.

Is there anyone who bought the deluxe model and installed Staintune exhausts on it?

I'm concerned how having two slip-on exhausts would affect on the bike's performance.

Thank you so much in advance.

Sincerely,
EatChikeen.

  A newy to me
Posted by: Cormanus - 04-02-2014, 03:24 PM - Forum: CB1100 Photos & Videos - Replies (15)

I guess you guys from the US might know this well, but I just went down to the town to get a prescription and fill the tank with petrol and rode past a bike parked. It looked familiar, so I went back for a look to find a Honda 750 Four, but fitted with automatic.

I've never seen one before.

The bloke reckoned it revved to hard for him, but when he started it up it sounded very sweet to me for a 30-year old bike.

I really like this bike, and so does Visor Down. I wouldn't rule out replacing a few of my less- used bikes with one of these and living happily ever after...for a while.
