The Hill Climb event at the Barber Small Bore festival today.
Posted by: misterprofessionality - 06-05-2021, 01:19 PM - Forum: Motorcycling - General - No Replies

Took two videos of the mini bike hill climb event at the Small Bore festival here at Barber Motorsports Park. What a gem. This was the best thing I saw all weekend bar none.

Also, bonus video of the scooter drag races.

  51K Spruce Up
Posted by: bflint - 06-05-2021, 06:15 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (9)

While doing my 1st valve adjustment (vendors did prior 3) I decided that my CB1100DX deserved a spruce up after 51K miles. Items included:
1. Adjust valves - Could not have done without LakeWylieJoe Norris.
2. Refinish valve cover.
3. Refinish forks.
4. Refinish ABS rings.
5. Refinish black headlight cover and speedo-tak front covers.
6. Replace speedo-tac console cover. Had "melted spot" on it caused by windshield magnification.
7. Recovered leather seat. Corbin recovered my Chip Beck spec seat to original.
8. Touchup gas tank - Had 3 itty bitty chips & 1 itty bitty dent. Local SpeedZone Paint owner took 5 weeks, but kept all decals/badges in place and paint match was dead on.

*ABS*

*HEADLIGHT & SPEEO-TAC*

Bought "another bike" to keep the CB company
Posted by: E11even_Hunnit - 06-05-2021, 06:12 AM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (7)

While I love my CB, and it's been my primary mode of transportation for almost 2 years, there's always added conveniences in owning both a bike and a car-which though a huge PITA where I live- I finally decided to pony up and get a vehicle to enjoy the nice roads near me when not on Biker 's

Fun, compact, and good looking(like the CB) were some of the must-have features. I did think of buying a small 4x4 Taco but with suspension setups I'd want, they're not very highway friendly, I also didn't necessarily need the added utility & overall functionality(although awesome to have).

With not many cars that caught my attention(at least not within my limited budget) I went back to the poorly marketed(much like the CB) 124 Spider that I had briefly sat in at the Auto show back in 2017

Despite of being assembled in Hiroshima(right alongside the MX5), with 75% Mazda parts, it is not a Japanese convertible, it is, in fact, an Italian roadster Cool

With the used car market being insane right now, the car hunting process was a complete nightmare, had I purchased the car a year ago when I first started looking at them, I would've saved $ and had access to more inventory. I never thought I'd live to see the day where used cars(not collectibles) appreciated over time and sold for a profit from their original purchase price Huh

After months and hours of tracking down a decent, non over-priced Abarth, and 4 fallen deals later, I was able to snatch this one in AZ last week.

This past Memorial Day Weekend, drove ~1,100 miles between PHX/LAS/LAX/SFO(via PCH) making a few stops to visit friends along the way. Great bonding time indeed. She's as much fun as the CB Celebrate

  Neutral safety problem-
Posted by: boatdetective_imp - 06-05-2021, 04:08 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (15)

Hey there. So I removed my headers to polish them up. Unplugged some wires for more access. Reinstalled and tidied up wires. Bike runs fine- but the green N light does not go on when the bike is shifted into neutral. Also, when the bike is in neutral and you put down the kickstand, the engine shuts off.

So- there's some neutral indicating circuit that is open. Anyone know where these wires/switches are in the harness? The wiring is tucked away very cleverly so any help would be greatly appreciated.

  0 to 60 & Quarter Mile Times

I found this link on another site and although you may not find your exact year and model it looks like most bikes are covered in one iteration or another. I'm not sure where they get their data so it may be somewhat subjective but still a fun to check out resource.

I find it interesting that the 2013 CB1100 is slightly faster than the 2017 CB1100EX. Biker

  Fuel cap vent
Posted by: Mixagon_imp - 06-03-2021, 03:59 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (7)

I went a ride yesterday Big Grin When I got home and parked up I could hear a faint hissing Sad first thoughts was tyres but no it was coming from the fuel cap and when opened there was a big whoosh so the vent must be blocked ?
Didn't have time to investigate so will look today.

Anyone else had a similar problem.

  CBX 6 cylinder on BAT

Was just looking at live auctions on “Bring A Trailer” for the fun of it and saw this, a CBX 6 cylinder with a realistic price.

If anybody here buys it I want to see it in person! Remember them from “back in the day”, sounded amazing.
