Just sharing my experience. I just got back into biking after 30 years or so with a 2013 standard. I like to do my own work as much as possible. Mostly to save $. I shopped online for tires for quite a while and just wasn't comfortable with Revzilla's recommendations. One for BT31s and one for BT45s not in standard size. Ended up talking to a local dealer and went with pirelli sport demons which are a poorly named touring tire apparently. Not much love to the battle axes here helped the decision. The dealer charged $40 per wheel if I brought them in off the bike. $95 on the bike and a long wait. They did the switch while I waited.

I was nervous about removing the wheels and needed to add some tools to the tool box. I also asked lots questions here and got good advice and video links.

I used a car jack and a ratchet strap to the ceiling in the garage to hold the bike up. Ratchet strap idea was a brilliant suggestion. It's also nice to have a carpeted garage.

New tools needed:
Torque wrench $20 model from harbor freight
Metric hex key set for pinch bolts and front axle
32mm socket. had to get the impact driver version
1/2 impact driver extension
27mm socket
22 mm socket by accident because my brain switched from 32mm to 22mm at the store

Front wheel was really quite easy.
I made a mistake on the back wheel trying to remove the brake assembly. I assumed it was like the front. It is not. It is attached to the axle. Getting the back wheel back on with the spacers, chain, and brakes all together was tricky but eventually worked out. I did a little "woot!" when it all came together. I wish the exhaust was just a bit more out of the way. I covered it with a towel and used an extension to get the socket on it. My tool kit only has a screw driver I would never use and one allen wrench.

There is somebody that has quite the bike collection and is about to start selling most of what he has. The does have a 2013 with 230 miles,I know nothing else about the bike but can put somebody in touch with him if interested.

A while ago I written why buying Bose QuietComfort headsets. While at any speed I just feel fine without hearing protection or with simple, good earplugs, long tunnels can really be a deafening pain. Long story short I bought QC20/s, they look fine, sit and fit fine and work as expected ....
BUT no way to pull the helmet over your ears (with the QC), or put the helmet on and add the the headset next.
Helmet and Bose in any combination don't fit.

What did I miss, when I read your reports about use Bose QC/s ? Are your helmets all XXXL, your ears very big, or you found a trick ?

Feels to me like I have to offer my pretty headsets on ebay or write them off.

Look at this… sitting outside the Honda dealer in Buford Ga. I saw it today while I was waiting for my tire install. I didn’t ask any questions, but it looks like it was in an accident and that it’s been sitting there, or somewhere, quite a while. Look at how the chain is rusted. And notice the condition of the rear tire… just about bald. I wonder if that help cause the accident?I hope whoever was riding it survived and is ok.

Hi everyone,

recently bought a CB1100EX 6speed that had just been run in.

I really like the bike in all respects and it seems perfect for my needs.

Except, on my bike, the constant vibrations/buzz in the midrange (from 3K to 5K) are intensely intrusive. To the extent that on a recent 3 hour run, my hands and feet were buzzing for several hours afterwards. I was wearing full riding gear.

I have been riding for 20 years, everything form old brits to racing ducatis with many guzzis in between and a fair few inline 4s. My daily round town ride up until now has been a 1970 Triumph twin and that causes me no problems in terms of vibration! (I mean the thumping vibration is there, but it is transient, unlike the constant buzz on my new honda) Heck, I've been using a 1960s guzzi police bike for the past 4 years for my long distance work.... So I don't believe I'm overly sensitive to vibrations.

I use a motorcycle as my primary mode of transport and ride far and often.

There are a few others who have complained about vibration on this forum and many who haven't, what I'm trying to figure out is whether my particular bike has a fault or if this is just a characteristic of the model.

Do you all just keep the revs under 3k?

Does anybody out there have a bike that is smooth between 3K and 5K?

Any info/data points gratefully appreciated

I did put a CRF1000 handlebar on my 2017 RS and it works perfect.
Had to use the CRF1000 risers as well. Because of the higher build, i had to change the brakeline. All electrics and throttlecable are original.

Practicing my TX accent for when I move there later this year. Anyhoo, on this Other Bike forum, I'm gonna take my Suzi-Q to a local shop for some PM. (that's Preventative Maintenance, in case you're wondering.) I bought the bike some months ago and changed the oil right away, but I'd like to have a look at the air filter, change the spark plugs, flush and fill the radiator, that sort of thing. Normally, I would do this myself, but I've packed all my tools and garage stuff up in preparation for the move, but now, I just got another gig, so I'll be here for another six months at least, so what the hey. The shop is a small independant place, not a dealer for any brand, and I've used them before.

So, I’m doing a search to see how folks might be mounting Condor wheel chocks on a Kendon trailer. I’m scrolling through the images and THIS guy’s mug pops into view. The Ferret is omnipresent!
