I'm in the market for a new helmet. I'm wondering about your experience with modulars vs non. I ride around town and also take multi-day trips on various types of roads including back roads and interstates.

I also ride with AirPod Pros for their noise cancellation and tunes. Keeping them in while putting on my current helmet is challenging. I would like to make that easier.

I'm leaning modular but I've not owned one.

Budget is ~600$

Hi all, I have been looking at the bless r seat cowl recently, but I am too cheap to spend $500+ and too impatient to wait 3 months, so I thought I would have a crack at making one.

I have never done any fibreglassing before and I had a failed attempt at making a mold, so I thought I would use the seat for the mold.

I covered the seat with glad wrap, and glued a couple of pieces of polystyrene together which I shaped to make the hump.

I then glad wrapped the hump to the seat and glassed over it.

Once it is set, if everything goes to plan I will be able to get it off the seat (fingers crossed), bog the crap out of it and paint it and it will look halfway decent.

Or I might have to cut it off the seat and throw it in the bin

So far it looks better than I had hoped, there is three layers of cloth on it, I am planning on another layer one I get it off the seat, but I have no idea what I am doing and am just making it up as I go. Maybe it will need more layers?

At the end of the day, as long as I don't ruin my seat I will be happy...

The guy I sold my 1974 350F to many many years ago, sent these pics last night. He finally got it restored and running. I had originally bought it for my wife to ride. She rode it one summer and decided she'd rather be my passenger so the bike sat for a couple years in our garage. Sold it to him for like $350. He kept it in his garage for 20 years and finally finished getting it restored and running again.

I don't suppose anyone here bought a 2013 standard at Honda Town in Minneapolis and sold it on eBay to a guy in Connecticut in about March 2019? It's mine now. I'm taking good care of it but would love to have the provenance and understand a few of the dings.

Over the past 4 years I have ridden thru 38 US States on my CB1100. This summer, eta blast off of July 1st, I hope to ride my CB1100 thru the last 10 of the 48 contiguous US States. The 10 states are: Minnesota, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, & Delaware. The link below is a Bing Maps route of my initial travel plan.

FYI, this 48 state bucket list thing is not so much about the fun of stopping and smelling the roses as it is about making miles and hitting destination objectives ... a pure road trip mentality that probably only makes sense to me.

So the seat is finally broken in to my backside and very comfortable...
However, it is extremely slippery....I am sliding all over the place.
Thinking about having an upholstery shop sew a piece of alcantara type fabric over the seating area...
Thoughts?

I joined the club with a 2014 with a 6 speed, but I'm curious to know how fast the engine goes in top gear on a 5 speed.

I rarely drive over 60 mph, and while it's nice to know that it's there, I rarely use 6th gear either.

I am located in California and have found a low mileage 2017 CB 1100EX in South Florida and have been speaking with the owner about doing an out-of-state purchase and having it shipped to me.

The seller has provided pics and other than a scratch on the left mirror it looks clean. I was wondering if there is any 1100 owner in the south Florida area willing to go check out the bike for me before I send the owner payment?

Some of you may remember that after an eye issue, Aug 2018, I sold my CB1100, Sep 2018.

In a moment of insanity, after my wife asked, "so, no more motorcycles", I agreed.

Since a Can-Am Ryker is not really a motorcycle, I had one last year from May-Oct. Fun, but very high RPM cruising RPMs with CVT.

My wife has released me from my promise. Tuesday I rode home a 2022 Triumph Bonneville Street Twin. Yesterday, I took a 90 mile ride to Mt Charleston:

Excellent cornering, 62 MPG, and although a delight to have my face in the wind, it was a tad chilly at 8,500 feet with only a long sleeve Carhartt work shirt over a short sleeve T.

Only 65 HP, compared to CB1100 86 HP, but pulls strong and stock exhaust is throaty, without being obnoxious.

Lots of other good people on this forum. Do not intend to slight any, but the above quickly came to mind.

Pdedse, did you have a Street Twin, but not keep it long? I've had no issues with heat from cat or radiator, moving or stopped.
