I suspect that most of the crud on my exhaust headers is from bugs that have vaporized when they splattered on the headers. (I do live in Maine you know.) I have cleaned them with NOXON metal cleaner and found that using a 3M pad worked best. However, the White Pad which I believe is the most gentle, did nothing. I had to use the Brown Pad to remove the crud. Problem is, the Brown Pad has left a dull finish on the pipes.

What are you using? What do you think I can use to shine my pipes back up again?

Met a buddy for lunch. I rode my ST, he rode his Suzuki Vstrom 1000. Adventure bike supposedly. Dang that thing is tall, and it's geared to the moon, we only got up to 60 so I never got out of 3rd gear and his is geared down 1 tooth on front up 2 teeth on rear.... and it shudders like a Harley whenever you are accelerating. Very top heavy, there is no WAY I'd take that thing off road.

On the plus side it had great ergos, shifted nice, decent air management, nice suspension, decent brakes.

Don't tell him I said this, but it is NOT an attractive thing.

Anyone else ridden one?

Hate to admit it but a drop off and some gravel on a steep grade boat ramp got me, and I have dropped and scratched my baby just a bit, luckily no paint damage or I would really be sick. Makes me so sad. Anyone on here that has put a performance exhaust on their bike want to part with their perfectly fine stock exhaust?? Honda Price $674.02, if so what is yours?

Could also use a right grip and weight if you have changed your out. Let me know!

Also scratched up some other pieces as well, have the insurance adjuster coming tomorrow and all just bolt ons.

Its just a body kit but I love the look. I think where I live this might be more fun? Not too far off from the HP2 I had, only better for the road.

Just finished reading the test of the new Honda CB 500F. 4.1 gal tak (2/10 more than ours) .... Estimated range 270 miles....

Then again it only makes 45 hp and 30 ft lbs of torque

The CB is totally worth it to me...I'll just stop at the gas station a little more

For picking a winner

Rider Magazine came in the mail a few minutes ago. In column One track Mind by Editor Mark Tuttle titled "The People Have Chosen", he reports Rider let people vote on their People's Choice Motorcycle of the Year 2013. Survey was open for 4 weeks. Honda swept top 2 positions and a Beemer came in third.

The winner with 13.1% of the vote was the new Honda Goldwing Bagger F6B

Right behind that with 12.6% of the vote (only 1.5 % behind the winner was.......

The Honda CB 1100!

Woohooo

3rd place with 11.7% was the BMW R 1200GS

Those 3 bikes garnered nearly 40% of the vote.

Well, I like my new CB1100 so much, I bought another one! So, now I have two in the stable. My first one was new, but this is a used one I found about 2 hours from me. Has 499 miles on the clock. My plan, which is subject to change at any time, is to keep the first one bone stock and do some changes to the used one. Maybe black tank, sides covers, Staintune, etc.

I have owned at least 50 bikes in the last 40 years and this is the first time I have owned two of the exact same bike, year, etc.! High praise for the CB1100, indeed!

The guy (kid) I bought it off of was a very nice young man, but just wasn't "thrilled" with the CB1100. He wants more of a sporty bike, which I totally understand.
