Attempt to color match helmet - CB4ME_imp - 08-02-2013 Close, but a tad lighter than the bike: ![]() This is an inexpensive HJC C2-R2 in candy red. RE: Attempt to color match helmet - CBMike_imp - 08-02-2013 That's pretty close to spot on. I'll bet when you are actually wearing it while riding and it's not sitting next to the tank it looks like it matches perfectly. RE: Attempt to color match helmet - the Ferret - 08-02-2013 C2-R2. Wasn't that a droid in Star Wars? Seriously thats real close. Is that a Modular? Never seen that model HJc before. RE: Attempt to color match helmet - dBuster_imp - 08-02-2013 Doesn't look modular to me... If it does then it has a strange seam that you cant see... RE: Attempt to color match helmet - CB4ME_imp - 08-02-2013 The HJC CS-R2 is their lowest priced full-face helmet, $95 shipped from Helmet House. It is the improved version of the old CS-R1, which was heavier, noiser, less comfortable, and had a cheaper face shield. The CS-R2 probably rates a 2 on a scale of 5. I have a couple other helmets but was looking for a color match for the bike and this was the closest I could find. Color should never be the primary criteria for picking a helmet, but I'm pleased. It fits like it should, tight yet confortable. It has ventilation ports and fully removable liners. It's said that practically any helmet is better than no helmet, and a full face helmet provides the most protection of any helmet types. I remember reading a recent article about helmet crashworthiness. In a surprise finding, some of the cheaper helmets were as safe and in some cases safer in blunt tramma hits than the $800 bullet proof helmets. It seems the cheaper helmets suffer more damage but absord more g-forces in the process, while some of the top of the line helmets are so well constructed that they actually transfer more g-forces to the head. But if I were going racing, I'd get one of the helmets MotoGP racers use, the highest rated one I could get my hands on, price be dammed. Well, it didnt look like a modular to me either but its got some unusual lines in it that confused me. RE: Attempt to color match helmet - AzBob_imp - 08-05-2013 A full-face top-of-the-line helmet that matches just about perfectly is the Shoei RF-1100 solid in wine. Matches both my CBR and CB (they're the same color). RE: Attempt to color match helmet - dBuster_imp - 08-05-2013 Personally, I went with the modular helmet, in a stand out hi-vis green! Makes them cogers see some flash of hi vis green and they are totally lost... Thought about color matching but my mesh riding jacket isn't matched so why the helmet... plus I want to be seen... The more visible I am the better...
RE: Attempt to color match helmet - meowguy_imp - 08-05-2013 As seen in my avatar, the Joe Rocket Red and Black Atomic fabric jacket is a pretty close match. RE: Attempt to color match helmet - Bbref36_imp - 08-06-2013 I bought this Scorpian I really like it and it matches perfect!! http://cb1100forum.com/forum/attachment.php?aid=80 |
