They don't list the CB any more- but maybe if there were enough people to want one and write them. They probably have the data info needed in a file somewhere.

Anyone know of a "batwing" style fairing for the CB1100 ? With a taller windscreen ? I found one that frames the headlight well in my pile of leftovers from previous bikes and made brackets to mount it but its not really wide or tall enough but does look good LOL

With a lot of help and encouragement from this forum...

I first ordered a new footpeg and pin.
Then I procured some (awesome) bars from 1973cb750.
Then I made an attempt to check and align the front end with some expertise from pekingduck.

It took months for the oem peg to arrive, but it finally did! So after a hearty breakfast, I finally got the horse out of the barn and knocked the dust off.

The forks seemed to straighten up, but the lines still appear off to my eyes. There is some friction prohibiting the front wheel from spinning freely/quickly. Still, the thing rides well. I've no front-end wobble, and little-to-no vibration at speeds up to 65mph. (And my bar ends/weights are damaged and not installed.)
Several times I sat up and let go of the bars and she stayed straight, save a few wind gusts. I hope she's alright...

Calling on pekingduck for more mastery...

And any advice at all on bringing downed bikes back to life...

So my check engine light came on, the bike went into limp mode. I have a O2 sensor eliminator on it. I checked it out and it had come loose. Fired up the bike and engine light went off. All good, right? No. Now my idle is hovering at around 12-13 hundred. I've already reset the ECU but still have a high idle. Does anyone have a solution?

...the clock says 330am...I force myself to think about all the details of the dream I can, because I always seems to forget them, but this one I want to remember...

I'm not sure if it's in nowhere Arizona or maybe it is Oregon--but my house (not sure if it's mine) is surrounded by nothing, on a flat piece of land. It is kind of dry and dusty, so maybe it's rural Arizona--there are some deserty looking mountains in the distance, and it's bright and sunny... No matter...

...there are two guys: one is sitting on my 2017 CB1100ex, fiddling with the instrument panel, and the other is standing in front of the bike, looking towards me as I quickly approach from the rear. The guy sitting is now standing and I think I yell at him "what are you doing!" maybe I added "thief"--seems that I did. I don't say another word, I simply land squarely in his face the biggest (ok, only) roundhouse punch I've ever thrown, and his partner just watches...multiple bottles of motorcycle oil (sorry, can't remember any brand names) fall out of white plastic bags that were sitting on the back of the bike...probably a dozen bottles.

...now the bike is in the garage and one of my brothers is with me. The garage is empty except the bike which is right in the middle of the garage...can't recall any details other than the bike is still in danger because somehow I know the thieves are still out there somewhere...

...I'm in the kitchen and my mom is there. It's not really a conversation but I think to myself that the thieves must have known about my bike becaue of the ad I placed on Craig's List (turning into a nightmare, right?)...I open the door to the garage, and the bike is not there. My brother and I go outside and looking across a small stream--or maybe it's a water canal like they have in AZ--there are the two thieves who now have my bike...I can't believe they got my bike afterall, and they are shaking hands with another guy(s)...kinda fuzzy...one of them is wearing a white shirt...

I tell my brother to get the keys to my green 1991 Nissan pickup.. and then, of course...just as it was going to get interesting...I wake up.

I think about where I park my bikes where I work...and how I'm going to start using my disk lock and heavy duty chain I haven't used in several years. Was a bit worried that I wouldn't fall back to sleep...very grateful the clock read 7:50 when I opened my eyes this morning.

Background:
1. wife and I have been talking a lot the last few years about where to retire: Oregon or Arizona; yesterday we were looking at some houses for sale in a very hilly area and we both decided we wanted a flatter area.

2. My cb1100 does need an oil change--was just about set to do it yesterday afternoon, but decided it could wait.

3. I currently own a Ram pickup; my 1991 Nissan was sold 5 years ago, and at one point it had been stolen, but gratefully recovered--yet in my dream I want the keys to it and not my current vehicle.

Ah, the human mind... a great place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.

Has anybody been able to ride a slow eight on his CB with just one hand on the bar ? If not, why not ?

It has little to do with motorcycling directly, although there are references to Babes Ride Out and the Sturgis Rally and her involvement in both. Recently, I posted a report that mentioned “Motor Maids” and their commitment to women riders. This documentary is a bit of variation on that theme inasmuch as it points out the courage and commitment of those women who choose to wor and or compete in what are often considered men’s activities and occupations.

I was particularly struck by an early scene in which Jessi’s mother watches her daughter strap herself into a rocket on 4 wheels for the first time.

Watch this with your wife, daughter, and/or granddaughter (assuming she’s at least 13 years old).

I visited my brother in LA several weeks ago now and unfortunately the big C has affected him too much to ride. He gave up riding his K1600GT a while back now and survived on two wheels with a smashing little Honda 750 Shadow. Now two wheels and four are too dodgy for him on the meds and has recently stopped driving for the safety of others.

To that end he is selling his beloved BMW K1600GT seen here, it's got decent mileage on it, but as he says, that's when you know you have a good one! As this is a USA centric forum, I thought I might just mention it here on the off chance someone was interested. I know this is very random and a very long shot.

I used the Motul 5100 Ester 10w40 last time...bit pricey so wondering what other people are using...?

Ok, so when i bought my 2013 secondhand it had a Corbin seat, I thought great! comfy seat! Turned out it wasnt that comfy an was pretty hard on the bum...
So I bought a 20mm piece of orange Gel pad from Ali express, drilled out the rivets that hold the leather in place, cut out a section of the foam in the seat and replaced it with the gel pad, then a thin layer of foam (maybe 3mm) which had a thin cloth type layer, to cover the whole seat section and smooth out the join, replace the leather and rivets...job done...and I must say its a definate improvement, not hugh, but definatley better....
