Honda announced today they will halt lawnmower and string trimmer manufacturing in the US in late 2023, in advance of impending bans on gasoline powered small engines in some states.

Sales have dropped in recent years due to electric-powered machines, and the business decision was made. ATVs will be manufactured at the existing plant in NC, which will allow the plant in SC to concentrate on side-by-side production.

Some might question Honda's practices, such as selling engines to put on other's mower platforms, or not pursuing the riding mower market. Sadly, they are not the risk takers they once were, more bean counters. Although they make jets.......

Their lawnmowers were generally recognized as the best, and most commercial gardeners rely on them.

What does this have to do with motorcycles? Maybe nothing, maybe a harbinger of things to come in the motorcycle world.

I'm getting closer to buying a couple of Arrow slip ons even though they are much more than I wanted to pay.
I'm not sure about the finish though so has anyone here fitted Arrow nichrom exhausts ?
As far as I can tell they are just silver colour and not chrome finish so how is nichrom finish to keep clean and does corrosion affect it. One side will get brake dust and the other chain oil spots so does it just wipe off or leave stains. Does it shine like stainless steel and can it be polished.

I really don't want to make a mistake so any experience with nichrom would be greatly appreciated.

I had posted before about my issue of needing a more forward control position to get my old legs in a more comfy position. I finished up today and very pleased with the outcome. On the right side I just fabbed a mount for the footpeg and found I could simply "heel" the brake pedal with no need to extend it. On the right I fabbed a forward peg mount and reconfigured a shift linkage to work with that. I used some old goldwing pegs and some shift linkage parts from a supplier. Ive not taken the old pegs off yet so u can see the difference. It came out about 8in forward and 3 in lower than the stock pegs and fits my old long legs much better

This morning I finished installing a new ECU on my 2013 standard and I am very happy to report that not only is the FAST IDLE problem gone, the bike runs like a new bike.
I will post photos that may be helpful later, but it was basically a plug-and-play job once the fuel lines and fuel tank were out of the way.
One very important item of note is that the part number on the original ECU ends with "23" and that part has been replaced with one that looks identical, but has the last two numbers as "24."
For anyone who is interested, I got mine from Partzilla for $478 US and I have seen them advertised for as much as $700+ elsewhere. Shop around, don't buy the first one you see.

I'm moving back to the UK early next year, and going to be setting up a restoration / specials building business. I'm interested in building a couple of flat trackers from the 50's - 80's period. I'm looking for a bit of inspiration for maybe doing a road going replica of an early HD or something that was maybe not so well known outside of the USA.
Are there any books/magazines that cover this period that you could recommend ?
Also, any pictures or info on the CX500 based flat tracker that I believe preceded the NS750 ?

By the time I put my auto tune in, the bike was already far from stock.

I made a right footpeg about 9in forward and 2 in lower, used a old gold wing peg, some steel, and 2 1 1/2 in clamps----welding is required
Had planned on extending brake pedal but it works fine using the heel of your foot !
My 70 year old right leg has been the problem but may do a left side modification with shifter soon

hello,my first time posting .I have a 2014 cb1100a.
I bought it 2 weeks ago ,with 9000 miles on it..
every thing works great ,however the low oil pressure light does not come on when key is in start pos. i checked the switch on the right side below the engine about 8 inches forward of the rear brake pedal. it has power with key on and off when eng starts.is this the low oil light switch ,or the high oil temp switch i'm looking at??
also, anyone know what color code for the wire that leads to switch.
