| Header Polish Challenge! |

I just got back from an automotive trade show, where I picked up a few samples of Flitz brand polish. I like to keep the headers on my '13 in perfect mirror-finish, which is easy to do once you make the effort to get them shiny the first time. After about three long rides, I notice a slight gold tinge to them, along with small black dots near the cylinder heads. About 10 minutes of polishing brings them back.
Call me OCD.
I've always heard that Flitz is the shiznit, but I have always used Blue Magic, which is cheap and easily available at Walmart. I was tempted to buy a large jar of Flitz at the "show special" of $37, which would amount to two eight-buck jars of Blue Magic.
Glad I saved my money. I used the Flitz samples yesterday on my pipes, and while it easily removed the gold, it wouldn't take the dots away. A few swipes with my cheaper polish and they were gone.

Mrs. Gone and I were in Redlands late this afternoon, getting ready for the town Christmas parade. As we were walking to where the parade was going to start, we heard a motorcycle and barking.
We saw this setup, and I originally thought that this couple had put this rig together for the parade - a motorcycle pulling a sleigh with dogs in it.
Turns out that this couple tours on a Goldwing, pulling a homemade trailer built to carry their dogs, Roxy and Zoey, with a bunch of storage and four external gas containers.
We chatted for a bit, and they have made quite a few coast-to-coast trips with their pups in the trailer. They must have been on the road for quite a while, as the dogs bounded from the trailer and bolted for the nearest tree.

| Oiling cylinders for winter storage? |

I can crank the engine without starting if I hold the throttle fully open while pressing the starter button. Will this coat the cylinders with oil for winter storage? Is it a good idea to coat cylinders with oil for long term storage? Removing spark plugs to do this through the hole seems like a lot of work.

Thinking of buying one of these. Anyone out there have any experience with one or know someone that does? Just doing homework right now.
