With a lot of help and encouragement from this forum...
I first ordered a new footpeg and pin.
Then I procured some (awesome) bars from 1973cb750.
Then I made an attempt to check and align the front end with some expertise from pekingduck.
(Thank you all again!)
It took months for the oem peg to arrive, but it finally did! So after a hearty breakfast, I finally got the horse out of the barn and knocked the dust off.
Here's my battle-scarred '14 in all its (present) glory:
I still need an instrument cluster
And a tank
etcetera etcetera etcetera
The forks seemed to straighten up, but the lines still appear off to my eyes. There is some friction prohibiting the front wheel from spinning freely/quickly. Still, the thing rides well. I've no front-end wobble, and little-to-no vibration at speeds up to 65mph. (And my bar ends/weights are damaged and not installed.)
Several times I sat up and let go of the bars and she stayed straight, save a few wind gusts. I hope she's alright...
Calling on pekingduck for more mastery...
And any advice at all on bringing downed bikes back to life...

I'm glad my advice was helpful. Just by your picture, the front end looks dead straight.
Some front end wheel drag when spinning is normal, a function of the pads lightly touching the disc, and you can get a screwdriver in there to pry the pads back, or unbolt the calipers and remove them. Without any pad contact, they should spin very freely.
One other thing may cause a slight distortion in the forks/calipers, and lead to a bit of brake drag is if the wheel is not centered in the forks. This is easiest with a helper. Loosen the 2 pinch bolts on both of the lower leg bottoms, and tighten the bolt on the right axle. (You may have to re-tighten temporarily one of the pinch bolts on the left fork so the bolt will tighten.)
Now grab the front brake, and compress the forks several times. Then either put it on the centerstand, or have your assistant tighten the pinch bolts.
I just looked at the overhead shot you took. At the front wheel, it looks like the left disc is farther from the wheel than the right, but that is an optical illusion because the camera was a little to the right. There is no way the discs could have shifted.
I see that the bars are rotated a little bit forward, so the ends are a little higher. Do you know if the bars were bent?

The bars are the Japanese type II, said to be mounted once on a low mileage cb. They looked good, though I didn't check your posted way.
I can confirm the posts took a beating. The bike has been down twice, wasting the bars each time. The instrument cluster and headlight mounts have also been bent.

Oops, when you mentioned the bars were from 1973cb750, I thought they were old bars from an early 750 you had lying around, not from one of our members. Certainly didn't mean to imply his bars were bent.
What works on your instruments? Does everything work except the tach?
