What is the life span of tires?

I have CB1100 which is manufactured at the year of 2014. Sold from dealer 2016 and driven 2.300 km.

What is the condition of the tires? They appear unused, like new.

When is it time to replace the tires?

Hi all, can anyone tell me the torque value for the front engine mounts-specifically the bolts at the front engine lugs?
It seems that a workshop manual is not available in the UK for the 17 EX/RS models..well not in paper format anyway, what Honda want you to do is buy a pass to see the relevent parts of the shop manual and I believe it's on a time limit too!

I was able to perform an initial assessment of the "QuietOn 3.1" ANC ear buds and here is my opinion:

Summary:
[ul] [li]They work as advertised![/li] [li]They are small and flat enough for me to slide my helmet (Klim Krios Pro in my test) without issue.[/li] [li]They are true Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) devices. ANC comes on about 20 seconds out of the charging pod and you can hear it kick in.[/li] [li]28 hours of continuous use on a single charge out-of-the charging pod.

Pros:
[ul] [li]Four sizes of wipeable foam-like pads that provide useful passive noise isolation. Ensure the correct size is chosen and seals well upon foam expansion.[/li] [li]Sound suppression appears to be about 80% quieter than ambient sounds, but you can still hear enough around you to stay alert (e.g. voice tones, abrupt sounds like banging, sirens and horns).[/li] [li]Compared to Sony over-the-ear WH-1000XM3 ANC headphones, I would say maybe 80 to 100% (equally) as effective. I was quite surprised. I did not expect this. Your results may vary depending on your ear design. Nonetheless, effective and without the bulk and weight. For me, this performance could not be ignored.[/li] [li]I found the foam buds comfortable, at least more so compared to silicone earplugs and generic industrial foam plugs. I have been wearing them for hours now without agony. I cannot say the same with audio/Bluetooth/silicone/foam earbuds.[/li] [li]Build quality of the devices are excellent, solid, and I would say "Apple-like" in feel and experience.[/li] [li]For sleeping, I personally have no problem resting on my side. The devices didn't bother me. Silicone earplugs would have bothered me.[/li] [li]Multiple applications: Motorcycle wind noise reduction, whining children in airplane fuselages, sleeping, industrial, urban, and concert noise suppression.
Portable technology.[/li] [li]Made in the EU (designed in Finland).

Cons:
[ul] [li]Pricey. This might be the biggest drawback.[/li] [li]They don't appear to be IPx water-resistant. Hopefully not an issue wearing a motorcycle helmet.[/li] [li]Maybe not a con, however, the buds are always on once removed from the charging pod for up to 28 hours of continuous use. They turn off when put back into the charging pod.[/li] [li]This is not a con for me, but the reason for over a day of continuous use is possible on a single charge is because there is no Bluetooth radio to power. Therefore, there is no sharing of media and communications. This is a trade-off, but should not be a surprise, and also given their small size. QuietOn 3 design scope was for primarily for sleepers, but it can be used in noisy industrial environments.[/li] [li]Possible con: Using the Klim Krios Pro helmet, it seemed like ANC performance dropped to about 80% - consistently for me. Was it because of my slight jaw or outer-ear adjustment with the helmet on, or was the ANC trying to adapt to the possible "muffled echo" (due to the helmet padding, and inside helmet shell curvature)? I don't know. Nevertheless, the change was reproducible.[/li] [li]You may hear your breathing. With full-on in-ear ANC, that leaves bone conduction of bodily sounds to migrate to your ear canal. Not sure if this is a con, but rather a normal behaviour with in-ear plugs in general. Nonetheless, it doesn't go away with these in-ear devices.

Last December I bought a used 30,000 mile 2014 CB1100. I want to take some long distance trips on it so I decided to give it some TLC. The bike runs and rides good but there's room for improvement. Here's my list of repairs, changes, upgrades.
New wheel bearings and seals, new swingarm bearings and seals, upgraded to new tapered roller bearing neck bearings and seals, new tires, new chain and both sprockets (dropped the rear tooth count from 40 to 39) new hub drive rubber cushions, adjustable rear shocks, Race tech front springs, all new fork bushings, seals and fork oil, engine oil change, spark plugs, valve check, brake pads, flushed all the hydraulics, Airflow seat cover, some cushy grips and a front fender extender.
I've been working on it for a month or so and I hope to get it back on the road in a week or two.

I'd be interested to know what you think might be the value of a well maintained, accident-free, spick n span CB1100 ... in terms of her parts. Ignore mileage (say 10 - 20k), ignore her age.
If you took the major parts like engine, gearbox, tank, seat, the wheels, and all the rest and sold them one by one with ebay ...

- which parts wouldn't sell within a few months ?
- and what total price would one get combined for those selling ?

I don't sell bikes very often, like once every 20 years, LOL. Wanted to see what y'alls recommendations were for best way to "list" or "publisize" the sale of a CB? I know CycleTrader is a place to list bikes for sale - do y'all recommend that avenue?

Do y'all have positive experiences with other ways to sell a bike? I was wondering about Craiglist. My thoughts are that may not be a good spot for a motorcycle?

Best practices for wiring when replacing lighting?

I have a damaged tail light and turn signal ready to replace. It appears there are no connectors at these ends.

I suppose I can solder the signal connection, but what about the tail light?

One thread I found discussed removing the fender and accessing the wiring harness under the battery box. Is there a better way?

Oh well, I couldnt resist it!
I add a new bike to my barn, she is a 2019 Triumph Speedmaster 1200.

I’ve just collected the bike and rode her back home 500kms, mostly through motorways. The SM looks very nice, almost as my CB1100 EX, but it has a much higher lower par and sounds better in comparison.

Riding wise, the SM fits me very well and I find her quite comfortable. I might change pegs though, dont like the forward controls, i prefer mid mounts.

I’ll be using her for weekend short haunts as well as some medium distance duo or solo touring. The bike is certainly on the small side but my wife and me are not big either.

Most possibly I’ll be selling the CB, it would be a bit of a luxury for me keeping both thoroughbreds together with the workhorse vstrom 650 XT.

In any case I pretend to remain in this forum, if I may.
