Ok, as soon as I do my initial service and get my new seat in, I'm going to do my first ironbutt ride on my CB. I'm not sure why I want to other than to say I did.

I'm still trying to figure out what route I want to take. I'll either head west, south or north first to keep the sun from being directly in my eyes. I'll probably head for the Texas hill country and back on a cicular route.

I've been thinking about doing it, and the other day, after a 300 mile ride I wasn't ready to stop. I'll be doing this alone. Everyone I know who rides right now thinks that a 200 mile day is all they can take. Except for one friend who works nights on weekends. Scheduling excludes him.

Cycle World has images of the new Victory racer with their in-house designed motor that is probably headed for regular production. I hope the motor finds a home in something other than a cruiser.

Had toyed with the thought of adding a windscreen. There were several bikes at the rally with them. The Comet I really caught my eye. Sent an inquiry to Mr. T, and he promptly responded. Placed the order. There's a bit of a lead time, but I'm not in a rush.

Consequence #2. There were two BMW R Nine T's. Not a good thing... haven't ordered one, but can't get it off my mind. I'll probably go to the dealer in Grand Rapids and take one for a spin. Hopefully it'll ride rough, won't handle, make weird noises and come with a flower pot to hand on the handlebars

Is it just me, or has it gotten worse lately. Tonight I found 5 so far and it's getting really old. Is there anything we can do to stop these idiots from intruding on this nice place to visit?

I am just curious. How often do you check your tire pressure? How often do you have to add air? Thanks

CAN SOMEBODY EXPLAIN IN NORMAL LANGUAGE TO SOMEONE NOT COMPUTER LITERATE, HOW TO POST PICTURES IN THIS FORUM?

I HAD MY DAUGHTER SHOW ME ON A RECENT POSTING AND WAS ABLE TO POST A PHOTO, BUT NOW IT'S ALL GREEK TO ME. I'VE TRIED FOLLOWING THE "TUTORIALS" ON HOW TO POST PICTURES, BUT THIS INFORMATION IS GEARED TO THOSE WHO ALLREADY KNOW HOW TO DO THIS! TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY, THEY USE ABBREVIATIONS CONSTANTLY THEN THEY EMPHASIZE HOW "EASY" IT ALL IS!

I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO FOLLOW THIESE INSTRUCTIONS AT LEAST IN FOUR DIFFERENT OCASSIONS AND I USUALLY SURRENDER TO THE LANGUAGE AND THE SPEED IN WHICH THIS DATA IS PRESENTED. I MADE MY LIVING FOR ALMOST 15 YEARS AS A MAINTENANCE ISTRUCTOR TEACHING VERY TECHNICAL DATA TO EXPERIENCED AND NON EXPERIENCED INDIVIDUALS. FOR THE LIFE OF ME I FAIL TO SEE THE PURPOSE OF A "TUTORIAL" THAT FAILS TO CONNECT WITH THOSE THAT ARE SUPPOSEDLY LEARNING THE SUBJECT.

IN ORDER TO TEACH ANYTHING TO ANYONE, THE INSTRUCTOR CANNOT BEGIN HIS WORK BY "ASSUMING" THAT THERE IS SOME PRIOR KNOWLEDGE THAT ALLOWS HIM TO OMIT ESSENTIAL DETAILS. TO THOSE WHO HAVE NEVER HAD TO USE COMPUTERS, THE LANGUAGE AND THE ASSUMPTIONS JUST GET IN THE WAY. IT TOOK ME MONTHS TO LEARN WANT WAS MEANT BY "RIGHT CLICK". I RECENTLY DARED TO ASK SOMEONE WHAT AN "APP" WAS!

WE KNOW THAT IF YOU ARE TEACHING THIS STUFF YOU ALREADY UNDERSTAND IT! NOW TEACH IT TO THOSE NOT ACQUAINTED. WHEN THESE PEOPLE GLOSS OVER THE STEPS INVOLVED, THEY ARE MERELY SHOWING HOW CLEVER THEY ARE, BUT FAIL TO PASS THE INFORMATION TO THOSE TRYING TO LEARN IT!!!

I am fortunate that during in this hectic period time in my life (mid 40's) I am able to take a 9 day trip by myself each year on my bike.
For 2015, I have decided to leave Virginia and head north to Meat Cove NS via the Portland to Yarmouth ferry. I only have 9 days so it's going to be a whirlwind, long days in the saddle tour. I have plugged in a bunch of possible places to visit on my GPS including Lunenburg, Peggy's Cove, Halifax waterfront, Meat Cove campground, the Celildh Trail, the giant lobster in Shediac (just because it's unique and we don't have those in VA), Hopewell Rocks at Fundy, Bar Harbor Park Loop Road, Mt Washington Auto Road and the Kancamagus hwy in NH before visiting a friend in Dover, NH and then Iron Butting it back to VA, while avoiding I-95 at all costs.

My question is: Besides the giant lobster in Shediac, the Hopewell Rocks and eating a lobster/lobster roll along the way, does anybody have any recommendations of what or where I could visiting for a cool picture, a quick vist, etc between the end of the Celidh Trail to the giant lobster in Shediac, then towards Hopewell Rocks and then towards Bar Harbor?

So when a lot of you were out east at the rally we made our trip to
Road America. Hauled the scooter up , was a great way to get around. I was really looking forward to see what MotoAmerica was doing . I thought they did very well for a first try. I think the crowd was bigger ( a surprise since the weather was not good) . The races were good and on time ,the programs were free but lacked rider lists.
I am always happy to pay whatever for a program if it has a lot of info. I have not missed this trip for more then 35 years and I have hopes they can bring it back to it once was in the 80s and 90s. But as sometimes happens up here we had a cold front move through for the weekend. Sat . it had rained and Sunday the sun came out but
the winds were 20-30 mph out of the north. 40s to the 50s and the winds did not die down till the end of the day. Went back to the car to warm up a couple of times.

Gentlemen,

I currently have 3 different exhaust headers for my CB11. One of them is a stock header with the catalytic converter removed. If I install it will the reduction in back pressure screw up the way the bike runs or cause it to run lean or rich? Putting on the Staintune with it's straight through pipe reduced back pressure as the stock muffler has two 180 degree changes of direction and after that my CB still ran fine (maybe better). Will going the next step and eliminating the cat be too much and require a PCV or a reflash? Does the cat have so little back pressure that the bike wouldn't notice? Just looking at it I think that cat produces quite a bit of back pressure but I don't really know. Anybody have some experience here?
