Wondering if the new [url=http://www.cycleworld.com/2015/06/01/moto-guzzi-california-eldorado-1400-and-audace-1400-cruiser-motorcycle-review-first-ride-photos/?src=SOC&dom=fb]Moto Guzzi Eldorado 1400 appeals to CB1100 riders?

Here's the bags I received the other day, they came packed very well, the instruction sheet had good pictures but it was all in Japanese. The bags look and feel well made, the hinge on the lid is beefy as is the locking system. It comes with two keys. I'm glad I bought these, I think they work well with the bike, installation was fairly easy and I'm looking forward to many years of use from these bags.

This is the hardware that came in the kit. Rear blinker bracket, 2 extended wire harnesses, 4 bolts and 4 metal extenders plus 2 bolts. Notice that the extenders are two different sizes. The shorter ones go on the front and the long ones on the rear.

This is the way I installed the blinker wires. They had them running up alongside the fender and I didn't like the way it looked. I drilled a hole in the bottom of the tail light and another one to run out the side of the tail light top bracket, to run under the seat. I added the rubber grommet for a more finished look and protection.

Despite being relatively young, my hips just can't get along on this bike. I think the saddle to peg distance is too short combined with the pegs not being rear set enough. I think I'm beyond what a set of adjustable peg brackets can achieve. I also don't think the taller K&H saddle will be enough to relax my knees.

I'm 6'1" with long limbs, so I seem to fit best on big, tall adv bikes. My V-strom is comfy, so I'll just ride that until it's 64 hp drives me to boredom.

So, keep an eye on the classifieds. I need to change the oil and detail her out for a photo shoot. By the time I do that, maybe I'll have changed my mind...I'm sorta known for that.

Behind my bike you can see the Winter Palace. Russian Tsars and their families lived there. Let's say, it was a winter residence. At summer time they lived out of the city.

I am sad that I didn't get to go to the rally in NC and meet everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful time, great weather, and safe travels home. Nonetheless, I was able to find something fun and close to home to entertain me yesterday; the Central Virginia Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Show a mere 30 minutes away!
I rode the CB and entered her in the show. She received a ton of compliments and she drew a lot of attention from the crowds who asked me many questions about her. 99% of the crowd was very positive about the CB, commenteing that she is "gorgeous", how "Honda really got this one right" and "that's the cleanest resto I have ever seen" (the guy had to look at the VIN plate as he didn't believe that it was a 2014. She even recieved 6 votes for "peoples choice" award which didn't seem to amuse an old timer who was one of the judges who said to me "you know that this is a vintage bike show". I didn't expect to win anything but I had fun.

My brother called wanting to ride yesterday. I rode up from my place in Vidor, Texas to Buna to meet up with him at my mother's house. We then rode to Port Arthur because my brother-in-law called and wanted to go.

We started down Hwy 365 to Nome when we stopped to top off on gas. My BIL decided we need to go to Crystal Beach to see his sister's beach cabin. So we backtracked to 1406 and went to Winnie, then headed to Bolivar Peninsula.

After stopping for a burger and checking out the beach cabin (the neighbor asked what year my "cb750" was), the other two were ready to head home. After we dropped my BIL back off in Port Arthur, my brother and I split off. He headed home, but I rode around Bridge City and Orange a little bit. I pulled in with just over 300 miles for the day.

This Sunday, taking advantage of the summer weather we’re having here in Portugal, a couple of regular biking friends and I decided on a quick jaunt across the river to the Arrábida National Park.
The road itself is a loop around the Arrábida mountain range, approximately 30 km long, with some nice twisties and gorgeous views of the Atlantic Ocean.

There were 4 bikes in total, including my cb1100, a Yamaha MT09, a Harley Sporster and a Moto Guzzi Norge.

Meeting in Lisbon for morning coffee, we crossed the 25 de Abril bridge across the Tagus River and headed to Arrábida. We stopped for some pictures and a few minutes of chat on the high pass and headed to Figueirinha beach for some cold refreshments.







After properly… watered…, and registering some photographic proof of our presence, we headed back and stopped for lunch at Maçã Camping Park, where, if you are ever in the neighborhood, I would recommend you try the ribs.

Properly fed, we returned to Lisbon. All in all, I clocked around 140 km of a very enjoyable ride.

Got the Honda touch up paint kit for my '13 CB. Why is it so much darker than the paint on the tank? Anyone else experienced that? Is it the nature of red being the hardest color to fix?

Yesterday I went to look at the FIM Trial World Championship - Sokolov, CZ .. I think it is the royal discipline ..
