  IOM TT Trip 2015

I'm leaving for my 8th annual trip to the TT, and Motorcycle.com has given me the task/ pleasure of covering the spectacle again this year. Here is my first column, hope you enjoy it, and be sure to follow along over the next two weeks. I'll be looking for some CB1100's on the roads over there!

I can't say what really happened - sworn to secrecy. I can say that no one was hurt but the fuzz had to be called in to contain the CB Rally

  My other bike- '81 XS400
Posted by: doubleg_imp - 05-29-2015, 01:46 AM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (13)

Just thought I would post some pics of the latest iteration of my ongoing project bike. Bought it last year for $500 (with valid title). Was pretty much stock, black in color, missing a few items such asair filters. Engine ran when I bought it, but carbs were not quite set up correct and would die almost instantly as soon as put it in gear and set out on the road. Bought some generic pod filters, rejetted, and replaced leaky exhaust, what a difference.

I should have kept better track of what i put it into it money wise, I'm guessing between 1000 and $1500. Probably wont get the return on my investment, but I bought it just to have something to tinker with.

Made the seat/rear cowl myself out of fiberglass and a ton of bondo.
Rattle can paint job, holding up better than I expected, althought the frame is showing signs of abuse. I may have to touch some of those spots up.

  70's filter addiction
Posted by: grayta_imp - 05-29-2015, 01:01 AM - Forum: CB1100 Photos & Videos - Replies (22)

I can't help it. I get bored. I take a picture. I promise myself I'll just archive it. Then I think, "Just one little adjustment won't hurt, right?" Several steps later I have a 70's Polaroid photo. Cool

I doubt I'd be doing this to a 2015 Ducati Diavel (which to me looks more like the Terminator than a motorcycle!), but the CB just seems so right for a retro treatment. Anyway, it's my own little addiction. Big Grin

  Mugello MotGP this weekend

A fun fact that portends an interesting weekend:

collated the race times for the first five races of the season: Taking crashes and errors into account, the Honda has actually improved since last year, completing the races over a second faster than in 2014, on average. Unfortunately for Honda, the Yamahas are nearly 14 seconds quicker than they were over races last year, and Ducati are over 19 seconds faster!

It's been a tough season for Marc Marquez. Things don't look to get any easier, especially with Lorenzo on a roll.

If Marquez doesn't do well, I'm pulling for Rossi.

  PROBLEMS ADAPTING A NEW SEAT
Posted by: Hiram E. Varona_imp - 05-28-2015, 05:16 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (20)

I'm having difficulties in the installation on a replacement seat on the CB. I've followed instructions as well as I could but it's like this seat is saying that somehow it just doesn't belong. Am I doing something wrong?
