I'm torn. You know my story, my son expressing a desire to own a CB, me finding him one, thinking I'd get one too and we'd ride together like we used to.
Now - him wanting a Gixxer and me ending up with his CB by default.
Granted, it's modded the way I wanted to do mine up, I was using it as a test vehicle. I figured I could just switch most of the goodies over to my bike when I got it and put his back to stock. So what's the conundrum you ask? Seems to have worked out pretty well?
The conundrum is - I always wanted mine to be the BLACK version!!!
I love the red and all, but when I saw the black ones at the rally, it really got me going again.......
It's probably going to be like trying to find a needle in a haystack, but I really want to find one. A '14 preferably, with ABS. I'm heading over to the classifieds..... I need help. Or therapy. On second thought, screw the therapy. A black CB would be therapy enough. Any help finding one is appreciated.

I hate to sell my bike with only 700 miles on it with all the extras I've paid for but I just can't ride it very far because of back problems guys ,,.i have really enjoyed this forum and was planning to make it to the rally but just couldn't drive it that far and it's only 121 miles from my house .. I just bought a Harley soft tail and can ride it with ease . Please check out the bike on the classified adds on the forum . I'm asking $8,000 for it with all the extras .. Hey everyone, I sold my 2014 DLX yesterday. I just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed my time on the forum. I would like to drop in now and then and catch up with the latest news, rumors, etc. I will miss my CB but I had the good fortune to find a buyer, who after a few phone calls and emails became a friend. Anyway thanks for allowing me to be a citizen of this community. Ride safe.

I just thought I'd share some mods I've been working on for my '14 std. I replaced the turn signals which was a real pain LOL. I have also upgraded the exhaust with a Yoshi full system and PCV. The Marlin also really helps me with highway cruisin' I highly recommend it. Tell me what you guys think.

I did some searching and see lots of info, most don't link to easy ordering for a 2014 CB1100. I was looking for a luggage rack, with a short back rest, and then a rail or so that's in position to be used as a 'grab handle'.

I am looking for an all in one, that doesn't need much in the way of owner modification. Is there another bike that's very close? I see the Honda Shadow mentioned a few times. I could drill a few holes if need be.

I've looked around, then it seems the 2013 and 2014 models may take a different rack? Thanks for any info.


After looking around and considering options I may just get a rack, forget the bar for now. I doubt I need much of a rest for a passenger anyway. Another idea I liked was looking at options at a motorcycle salvage yard/ parts supply.

Fell asleep on the couch soon after I got home from work. Woke after a couple of hours and decided to ride to town to get a diet coke.

I have been thinking about painting my headlight brackets red like the old school tube wrap around brackets were. It would a nice little nod to the old CB, with that little touch of color there, while keeping the look modern. Thoughts? Would it be cool or tacky?

Tonight I replaced my handgrips with larger diameter ones. Screwed the end weights back on but they don't seem to tighten up like I think they should. Screw just seems to keep on turning. The service manual says I should be putting in a new screw. Why is this?
