  Motech part numbers
Posted by: Skypilot_imp - 04-27-2019, 12:10 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (3)

I’m swapping my risers for a more upright riding position and have decided on the Motech Barbacks. They have a more rounded look than the GENMARs. Only problem is that despite seeing them in many threads here, the part numbers I’ve found indicate that they DONT fit my 2013.

These are the risers I’m looking for

The part number I have is this from the 2tmoto site but it says 2016 models and up?

Hi

Has anyone installed this Smart Turn System? If so where did you mount the module and do you like it?

Whitehouse tank dimensions vs CB750 tank dimensions
Posted by: spartanheed_imp - 04-26-2019, 05:42 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

Does anyone know how much bigger/longer the whitehouse K10 tank is vs the original CB750 tank?

I'm considering applying some tank stripe decals but the only ones I can find are for the CB750.

Thanks

Ah well, I've bought them anyway so I will find out soon enough!

  OEM Honda Fork Boots
Posted by: 2017EX_imp - 04-26-2019, 02:55 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (28)

I have been thinking about adding fork boots to my 2017EX for some time now. I like the old school look, but also protecting the fork tubes from stone nicks, dust, and dirt. Up to this point the fork boot options for the CB1100 have been aftermarket, or other bike brands ( Kawasaki, Triumph, etc. ) that happened to be of a size that would fit.

Now there are OEM Honda boots made for our 41mm forks, as they are standard equipment on the 2019 CB1100EX. None of the parts houses in the U.S. have 2019 CB1100EX parts diagrams or parts availability yet, so I emailed Mr. T at Samurider. They cannot be seen in the pictures of the 2019, but aparantly the Honda boots also use zip ties to secure, according to Mr. T.. It has been my experience that sometimes these applications have low profile dedicated zip ties, and sometimes they are run of the mill generic, so I asked Mr. T. to include the zip ties in his quote.

The price for a set of boots with zip ties and shipping, Mr. T. put at $110. Currently the zip ties are out of stock at the Honda warehouse, so Mr. T. estimated 5 weeks form order to customer receiving the parts. Maybe a little bit on the pricey side compared to other options, but I prefer OEM and will probably be ordering a set shortly. Mr. T. said he will probably be adding OEM Honda fork boots to parts listings available for the CB1100 on Samurider.

trying to put a tire on for the first time. won't inflate?
Posted by: misterprofessionality - 04-25-2019, 10:36 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (46)

so, in an attempt to get back on the road after my flat tire incident last friday, i tried to get my new tire mounted today. after many hours of backbreaking labor, it's completely on the rim, but for some reason won't inflate? i tried the tire inflater we have here at home and it produced no pressure in the tire, i then tried to take it to the local gas station inflater to see if that would produce any results, but hope, no pressure at all.

i tried rubbing soap around to see if there are any leaks, but no bubbles were produced. what's going on ?

  Honda carrier
Posted by: the lodger_imp - 04-24-2019, 09:32 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (21)

Does anyone know if a Honda carrier for a Cb1100 EX SAE ( which I think is the wire wheel version roughly 2013 to 2016 ) will also fit a Honda cb1100 A-D , 2013 cast wheel ?

Many thanks

"Close" to red in automotive paint
Posted by: Gone in 60 - 04-24-2019, 07:06 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (12)

Hi all,

I have my Givi V47 trunk mounted to my '13. I have a replacement trim panel on my Givi to replace one with a small crack. I was thinking about painting that replacement panel in a color close to Glory Red to sort of match it to my bike.

Don't want to pay factory or Colorrite prices for an exact match - a Duplicolor automotive red that's close is fine, as I can pick up a can at an auto parts store and spray away.

Just wondering if anyone has done the leg work of finding an automotive color that's very close to Glory Red. If not, I can eyeball it.

Thanks!

  after track weekend
Posted by: jitaylor_imp - 04-23-2019, 09:37 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

After a weekend of tear-assing around a track on the ragged edge, today I rode to work on the CB. It was like riding in a Lincoln Town Car. It is just great and relaxing, even though most of the commute is on a turnpike. There are other bikes I sort of covet, like the Ninja 1000, or the R1200 RS, but I am afraid I just won't get that relaxing feeling from them. I would never swap for one of those without a test ride to be sure.
