so, in an attempt to get back on the road after my flat tire incident last friday, i tried to get my new tire mounted today. after many hours of backbreaking labor, it's completely on the rim, but for some reason won't inflate? i tried the tire inflater we have here at home and it produced no pressure in the tire, i then tried to take it to the local gas station inflater to see if that would produce any results, but hope, no pressure at all.
i tried rubbing soap around to see if there are any leaks, but no bubbles were produced. what's going on ?

On tubeless tires you take a tie down strap and wrap it around the middle of the tire....tighten the strap but not too tight...then inflate until you hear the bead set

that's weird, absolutely none of the instructions i looked up mentioned that. they all acted as if the bead would set as soon as you try to inflate it.
what if i don't own any ratchet tie down straps? what else can i do?

Good idea!
If you don’t have a strap; try removing the schrader valve from the valve stem (allows more air flow).

Use an air compressor with a tank for best results

Using a ratcheting tie-down strap, as Desert viper suggested, is the best, and possibly the *only*, way you'll seat the tire...

Mister P, if you have an America’s tire or a Discount tire there in Charleston, take the tire to them and they’ll probably inflate it for free....or go to Harbor freight and buy a cheap set of ratcheting tie downs

What they said works. I’ve done it lots of times on small lawn equipment tires.

I used straps on tires for a wheel barrow and you need a lot of air FAST to set a tire on a rim , should not be that difficult.

where's the best place i can get a lot of air fast? i don't own an air compressor and there's no way i'm going to be able to absorb the cost right now. they're hundreds of dollars.
