It was in the middle of the night 6 years ago today our founder Guth started this fine forum.
we currently have 4598 members from something like 23 countries who have posted 11,948 threads and 224,824 posts. whew.
In those 6 years we have made a lot of friends, a lot of acquaintances, and po'd a few people. We have gotten together for rallies ( NC, Virginia, Arkansas, Kentucky and Oregon..and have one planned for West Virginia and Colorado. We've also gotten together for mini rallies and just for lunch or coffee. Unfortunately we've lost a few too rip OldF7guy and Physics Teacher.
not bad for a motorcycle that is so good there really isn't much to talk about it.
Anyhow.. Happy Anniversary folks! and thanks for making the CB 1100 forum the best motorcycle forum on the net.
Oh yea..thanks Guth and Cormanus for your continued hard work on keeping this place up and running.

I want to pull the top fork bolts off and paint them but based on past experience on my other bike-didn’t take load off front of bike, springs shot past my head, maybe 50 feet in the air, landed across the street- can I get the bolts off without any drama provided I get the front of the bike off the ground?

Hello to the forum and thanks to all the warm welcomes. I guess this will be my first legitimate post. So anybody who has read my intro post has seen that I ride about 90% of the time in town and about 10% on the highway. So of course I am already looking at possible changes to suit my riding style. The first thing that I have started looking around for is exhaust including
Yoshimura RS3 slip on $360
Arrow slip on $540
Stayintune slip on $800
Delkevic 8 inch slip on. $225
Delkevic full system $340
Yoshimura RSCV full system $1200
The question being will an aftermarket exhaust help with in town riding performance vs stock. Much of what I’ve read so far indicates no need to adjust the AFR.
Looks like most exhaust on Samurider are crazy $$$$.

| Bar end weight replacement |

Hi guys, something is puzzling me. The only visual blemish that's bugging me on the '13 I just bought is a mark on one of the bar end weights where the P.O. bumped the bar on the edge of his garage.
I pulled off both of the factory end weights and repainted them. I didn't pay a heck of a lot of attention when I removed them, but putting them back on, they do not appear to go inside the handle bar, but rather they butt up against the bar. This gives a sizable gap between the weight and the grip (maybe 3/16") I didn't notice that gap before I pulled them off, but wasn't paying close attention.
Is a gap between the end weights and grips normal? Anyone available to check their '13 (or '14 as well if the bars are the same) and let me know if there should be a gap? The outside diameter of the weight is slightly larger than the inside diameter of the bar, clearly it's not designed to go inside unless I'm doing something wrong...

All,
It is with great sadness that I am here to report my stolen 2013 cb1100. It was stolen out of my parking garage in downtown Des Moines, IA last night.
If any of you are in the state, please keep a look out for it. License plate GF6630 (but the plate is probably off the bike by now). Everything was stock and it had a small dent on the outside of the exhaust.
Thank you,
vwinks

My wife everybody. she's tougher than she looks. After 2 years of learning from scratch (she couldn't even ride a bicycle), this last weekend she was genuinely on the road. we've been making trips to the DMV to hijack their test course so she can practice. she's now at the comfort level where she can easily get up to speed in the 60's and ride safely. You can tell she's a little unsteady, but her nerves are solid. even when she goofs up and falls over, we just make repairs and she's fine, not even shaken up. a real trooper.
P.s. Watch all the way to the end if you want to see her throw sparks from one of her pegs.
