What's the one way distance, you commute riding your motorcycle?

Just append to the list below (copy&paste):

Name miles

2017 Seat Loop Fitment on 2014
Posted by: vicaphit_imp - 05-06-2019, 08:32 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (1)

The 2017 CB1100 has a rear seat loop that looks like it attaches to the same bolts that the 2014 rear seat hand rails attach to. Has anyone bought a seat loop from the 2017 and put it onto the 2014?

I understand that it will probably get in the way of the rear fender/tail light. I intend to make a bracket for a new tail-light.

This is a link to the exploded view of the rear. It's part number 10.

Handle bar replacement/ Finally happened bike backed into or attempt to steal
Posted by: mustang462002_imp - 05-06-2019, 12:28 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (7)

So I found my bike cover shifted and I assumed it was the wind. Later I found the tire had rolled to the rear of the cover. So apparently at one point in my condo my bike tipped over hard. I was happy someone picked it up.

I also found the bike in N instead of 1st gear as always. I'm absolutely positive I left it in 1st as I park on a slight incline and I don't feel comfortable without it being in 1st.

So the damage is:
-Instrument cluster broken
-Handle bars bent
-Left rear taillight bent
-Left covers scratched to hell
-Left handlebar weight scratched.

I put some electrical tape on the cluster and I want to see if still is waterproof. I'll probably leave it.

Does anyone have the pdf's for replacing the handle bars. It's only $90 bucks and even though my handle bar bent less than an inch its annoying enough.

No more GENMAR risers so now what options?
Posted by: Skypilot_imp - 05-05-2019, 10:02 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (21)

So yes according to several hits on the web and some feedback here it appears the GENMAR is out of business AND has my $$. Problem is that I am still looking for risers and I’m not finding many options. What I’ve seen so far are...

1 The Rox pivoting risers which fit but may or may not cause cable/wiring issues

2 I cannot find any from SW Motech despite the fact that I see that brand a lot around this forum

3 These Zetas that are universal but don’t really give much in the way of info

Looking for any other options or input here!

  More bad news medically
Posted by: the Ferret - 05-04-2019, 09:01 AM - Forum: Motorcycling - General - Replies (51)

I have been functioning with torn meniscus in both knees for about a year now. Went it first happened, I refused surgery and went with cortisone shots instead, which made them feel normal again. Friday afternoon, the right one let go again. So painful. Can't walk, can't sleep. Every time I get up or down out of a chair it feels like a bear trap snapped on my knee. On a scale of 1-10 just sitting around is about a 6 or 7. If i try and get up, or roll over in bed, it shoots straight to an 11.

Monday I will call the ortho doc and discuss options, but as of now doesn't look like I will be riding for awhile.

  GENMAR customer service?
Posted by: Skypilot_imp - 05-04-2019, 02:24 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (7)

Hey all. Anyone have any feedback on GENMAR as far as customer service goes? I ordered my risers 6 days ago and still haven’t even received a confirmation of processing the order. Just a charge on my card. I sent a follow up email 2 days ago and still nothing? Never had it take this long for ordering anything from any vendor.

Givi Sport Bag installed on 2017 RS OEM Rack

Hello from Nurnberg

Here is a link to the photo's of the Give Sport Bag installed on my 2017 CB1100 RS

Instead of the messy straps I used commercial grade Velcro which provides great holding strength and relatively easy removal.
