  Smart Brake Module
Posted by: Cormanus - 08-19-2019, 11:51 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (6)

I read this morning of a module that can detect engine braking and convert it into a signal to activate your brake light. Looked pretty interesting. See, https://motorbikewriter.com/brake-light-save-life/

The outfit that makes them (https://safer-turn.com/) also makes a similar module to make turn signals self-cancelling.

I have no interest—financial or otherwise—in the company.

  New Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

Hi all. Just curious as to whether any CB owner has actually ridden/ bought one of the new RE bikes? If so, How does it compare to the CB in riding experience? Did you trade your CB in and if so why?

I was very tempted to get one earlier this year but there's no dealer close enough to me to go and try one out properly. So I decided to wait and let any warranty type issues pop up first. So far dont think there have been any. Unless you know different.

Kind regards Jon

  Some ideas for my EX
Posted by: Rod 1975_imp - 08-19-2019, 03:02 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (33)

Hi guys. Thinking in some ideas to change my EX a bit.
Did any of you tried the lsl clubman or lsl sixties handlebars?
Other thing, I find the headlight a bit small for the size of the front end / gas tank. Maybe I'll change it for an 8" headlight. Did anybody tried that also?
Best slip ons with 60s/ 70s classic style?
Other than this, it will be the ECU reflash, lower the bike a bit and cut/swap the rear fender.
Thanks in advance

  Magic moments

That amazing motorcycle ride when you go at night, doing 180kmh and nature gives you a spectacular show of force and beauty, with thunderstorms on one side of the road and clear sky with an almost full moon and stars on the other... pure magic!

Wish I had a camera to capture the real ride

  Center stand stop
Posted by: Nemo_imp - 08-18-2019, 07:14 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (11)

I swapped my exhaust for a Nojima megaphone and lost my center stand stop. Do you know if there is an aftermarket accessory to create a new stop?

Looking forward to your recommendations.

  Honest opinions please,part II

I started a thread about this not too long ago but since almost done I wanted some more opinions. Ive got my taillight mod ready for paint, put the fender and taillight on the bike to make sure everything fit. Now that’s it’s almost done I’m not too sure about how the thing works,it might need to be tweaked, one more time. Everything here is in primer, fenders will be body color, taillight and bracket will be satin black, front fender will be from a CB1100 F. Honest opinions here, does this thing look good or pass?

  Glad I drove today.
Posted by: Gone in 60 - 08-17-2019, 12:13 PM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (19)

In this case, my seat time was in the car. I heard a loud THUMP under the driver seat on Interstate 5 on the way to work this morning. Got to the parking garage and looked around my car but didn’t see anything. When I looked under, this steel rod had impaled my floorboard right under the seat , stuck in a few inches.

One of those “should I ride or drive” days. For once, glad I left the bike at home. I can patch a hole in my floor, not in my leg!

  CEL after Jump Start
Posted by: rage91_imp - 08-15-2019, 11:21 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (23)

Came out to a dead battery last night, I think someone put my hazards on just to be a jerk. I got jumped from a booster pack but my check engine light has been on since it was jumped. Hooking the battery up to a charger today but curious if there's a way to check the check engine light code on the 2017? I looked through the owner's manual and nothing. Closest Honda dealer is pretty far and I'd love to not have to go there just to get a low voltage code cleared if that's what it is.

  Alternative sprockets
Posted by: the lodger_imp - 08-15-2019, 06:34 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

My 2013 cast wheel 5 speed has 18T front and 39T rear sprockets as standard.
I would like to change the gearing to get more mph per 1000rpm ( so bigger front/smaller rear ) but I cannot identify any UK source for a 19T front or a 36T rear sprocket ( there are any amount of sprockets going smaller front/larger rear ! ).

I was looking at a cb1300 front 19T sprocket on ebay. Does anyone know if this will fit ?

Thanks
