Ride from SF To East Bay

I really dont know how susceptible modern motorcycle tires are or arent to flat spots from sitting. I have heard arguments both ways. That said, I did have a flat spot on my CB1100EX front tire from the get go when it was new, and it almost took an act of congress to get it diagnosed and fixed under warranty.

I readily admit that I am a fair weather rider, not a genuine road warrior like the Ferret, i.e. cold weather winter riding. So, I wanted to get a good reliable front stand, that hopefully would get the front wheel off the ground over the winter with my bike on the center stand, but still keeping the rear wheel off the ground as well. I think most probably know what an indestructible well made stand Pitbull makes, but I had reservations as to whether using a Pitbull stand would be short enough to use on the front wheel to still keep the rear wheel off the ground. Well, I am happy to report that the Pitbull front wheel Hybrid Under Fork Stand works perfectly. The Hybrid stand has height adjustment, and from the factory, arrives in the lowest setting. The result is that when the Pitbull front stand is used with the CB1100 on the center stand, the front wheel is 1.25 inches off the ground, and rear wheel is still about half an inch off the ground. It is very solid, and I have no qualms using it. For maintenance, cleaning, long term storage, and winter storage, I think a good solution.

Missus Wife digs her 2017 CB1100, but it's a bit tall for her, and here in Colorado where it's tough to find any parking spot that's not on some sort of incline, she's come close to dropping it a few times.

Do you know if anyone makes a shorter rear shock and front fork spring?

I searched the forum and didn't find a similar topic, and so far I've found Ikon and Ohlins (ouch!), that appear to be a replacement for stock shocks.

Hi all. I have a 2018 EX. Very pleased with it overall. Trying to resist the urge to tinker too much. I live in the UK so I'm not too sure how many decent exhausts there are out there that would suit the CB. I have seen many pictures of these Moriwaki's and other 4-4 systems that look great but cost a fortune, even if I could get one. So I decided to have a good look at the standard exhaust and see what I could maybe do to it. There was a baffle in there with three smallish holes that looked like it would come out easily. So i used a 1" hole cutter that fitted perfectly down the pipe and drilled out the baffle. It came out extremely easily and then i used a magnet on a stick to re-trieve the swarf and remnants. Again easily. Used a file to smooth off the bore and it was a very rewarding and tidy job, if i do say so myself! Does it sound different. Well yes. Hard to describe in words but the exhaust gases sound 'cleaner' coming out. ( no i dont mean emissions ). Slightly less rasp and maybe even 'hiss' if that makes sense. Sounds bleedin lovely TBH. removing the baffle can only be a good thing so I reckon I will happily live with it as standard now. Saved a fortune aswell. I write it here Just incase anyone else was wondering the same thing....great forum BTW.
