No photos of a CB1100 but I did get to hang some old motorcycle signs and put up a set of shelves for helmets, gloves and sunglasses
and fold up my single rail trailer so everything would fit on my side of the garage

Seat time on my 2 bikes today was limited to sitting on them and walking them to a new parking position. I spent the morning unpacking old tin motorcycle signs, adding shelves for my helmets and gloves and finally getting my single rail trailer folded up so everything would fit.

I didn’t work this hard when I had a full time garage.
Looking forward to getting back to riding this week.

Sunday, yesterday, it's a beautiful day. I usually take the Bmr for a short putt on Sunday to get it up to temp, etc. I get to my fave beach-side taco joint, park and sit there on the bike watching the people for a few, then head back. Going thru the beach towns, I keep it mellow, there has been a high LEO presence the last couple of weeks, but I go thru Sunset Beach with no probs and come out the other side onto pretty empty PCH. The Bmr is running very well, and since I'm all alone, I goose it up a bit coming up the bridge at the Naval Weapons Station. What do I see ahead? Yes, a black and white sitting in some bushes, and I think Oh, crapinsky, and back off, passing him at a moderate rate, but I see his cherries come on and he pulls out. I pull over. He says he had me doing 77 in a 55. I say Oh, wow, I had no idea I was going that fast. He asks me how long have I been riding? 50 years. How many tickets have I had? One. The long and short of if, though, is he didn't give me a ticket, just some advice to slow it down, LEO is out in force. Thanks, Officer, I say, and go on way.

Just installed a set of sw motech crash bars on my 2013 standard and noticed that they are somewhat asymetrical. The right side extends further than the left. It clears the engine case by around 1.5 inches or so while the left side is close to the case and is sticks out less from the frame and frankly doesnt seem like it will offer a lot of protection if the bike is dropped. Havent gotten out a tape measure to check but its fairly obvious. I called Twisted Throttle this morning and he said that's the way they come and other brands do also. He could not explain why, however. Anyone out there who might know why they are designed like this? My brother thought it might have something to do with the kickstand, but personally I think that side should at least match the other, seeing as how the bike can get dropped from a bad kickstand deployment.

Hi, i can use some technical help on installng the boosterplug I recently received.
On 3rd picture the red circle was pointed out as the AIr Intake sensor by someone from customer service from boosterplug.com. However I only can find a 2 wire connector (blue circle), but the connectors are not compatible with the boosterplug. The response from boosterplug was that Honda never uses or has used the type of connector for the AI sensor and sincce then no more e-mail assistance from them.

So if someone can point to me with a picture the Air Intake sensor on a Z018 onwards Honda CB1100RS or even on an older model, that would be great. The AI sensor is part 31 on the Honda drawing.

I just want to test it a couple of weeks before deciding if I keep it or not...and the 10 min install as stated on the instructions are already 10b for me

Hi All, interesting thing I encounter today, I ran my CB till the tank almost empty and pump in 12Liter of fresh RON97 fuel. I believe the '13 CB tank is only 13L.. Previously the bike was running on RON95 fuel. Right after I refuel, my bike started to run a bit high on idle on a warm engine (about 1250rpm). Then I did a throttle position reset and now the idle is fluctuating between 1000 and 1100, jumping up and down quite actively. Before this while running on ron95, the idle was stable at 1050. After the bike cold down I wash the bike and after washing, the idle become stable at 1050 again.

Is the ECU learning to adjust to new fuel? or I ran the tank till too low and fuel pump is hurt? or the mysterious idle unstable issue?

Does our CB have any knock sensor that will adjust Ignition Timing based on knock sensor??

Thought of my friend Cormanus and how he's provided us with written descriptions of riding in Australia that are every bit as vivid as any video.

The signal rides on a ~10v level. Notice the trace is 10v from the scope center (scope 5v per cm)

Test setup: I disconnected the sensor connector from the harness and connected jumpers to the harness male pins. Then I used .028” safety wire inserted into the sensor female pins and clipped the jumpers to the safety wire. Now the speed sensor is connected to the bike again and I had a place to connect the o-scope leads (to the safety wires).

Scope: the probe was connected to the VSP+ wire. The probe ground was connected to the VSP- wire. Connecting the probe ground to chassis ground does not work. All you get is a sawtooth wave train that stays constant amplitude and frequency. Max has a theory on that.

Upon ignition turn on the trace goes from 0v to ~10v and stays there until I put the bike in gear (on the center stand). When it clunked into gear you can see a period pulses as it jerked the wheel I guess. Then I let the clutch out and the bike idles at 10MPH. You see the pulse train. Then ran the throttle up. Then took it out of gear and turned it off. You can see the pulse train is gone and the trace is at ~8v vice the 10 at start.

TLDR: started the bike, put it in gear and ran it up.
I forgot to publish it. Wait until 6:30pm. About 10-15 minutes and it should be good.

The Arts District is an interesting place. Ten years ago it was a wasteland of abandoned warehouses, which have been reclaimed as loft spaces, art galleries, $9 coffee and high-end restaurants.

I look forward to going, and listening to the hipsters tell me how I ruined my Bike by putting a luggage rack on it and not wrapping the header pipes. There’s already a hip motorcycle “hangout” in the Arts District called The House of Machines.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
