  New Project 954RR
Posted by: whizzle_dizzler_imp - 05-18-2021, 02:39 AM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (6)

Picked up a new project last weekend. It's a 2002 CBR954RR with a bit of a sad story to it. Long story short, 7 years ago, it was involved in a fatal 35mph accident where the rider was struck by a left-turner at an intersection. His father came into my shop, he saw my CB, we talked about bikes for awhile, and he ended up offering me the bike.

I've always loved the old Fireblades, and now I have one for myself. I'm honored that the father entrusted me with bringing this motorcycle back to life.

It certainly needs a little bit of work and a lot of money. I'd like to do a complete restoration on it to bring it back at least close to original, but if cost is too high, it will be turned into a clean streetfighter, or a nice track bike.

If anyone on the forum happens to have some 929RR or 954RR parts, please let me know. Thanks!!

  Rizoma risers on the cb1100
Posted by: Zee9_imp - 05-18-2021, 12:57 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (20)

Has anyone tried after market risers on the cb1100. The stock risers seem to be 40mm and these are 62mm high. I’m still waiting on torque values from Rizoma. I plan to use these with some Rizoma or LSL fatbars on mine.

Any chance anybody knows the specifics of the oem handlebars? Width seems to be 28”. I’m curious about the height and sweep (pullback)

Great smokey mountain week of riding
Posted by: misterprofessionality - 05-17-2021, 12:50 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (18)

I happen to be up in the great smokey mountains all week with my Concours 14, exploring this and that and having a grand time. On the itinerary are clingmans dome, mount Mitchell, some important asheville landmarks, fontana dam, the Dragon, and more! Our little airbnb in Bryson city is awesome, and I've got nothing but time. Stay tuned here for pictures and if anybody is in the area give me a shout.

  Ride up the Delaware
Posted by: KiowaEagle_imp - 05-16-2021, 10:49 PM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (3)

I had put 150 miles on the CB Saturday so I took the VTX on a ride up the Delaware through the Delaware Water Gap and to Dingmans Ferry yesterday. I didn’t realize it at the time but I was only about 25 miles from Suhawk305. A few storm clouds threatening and could see some rain in the distance but all in all a good day weatherwise. Stopped at a favorite haunt across the bridge from Belvedere, NJ for fresh shad strips (the shad are running on the River) and a Riverton Hotel must have, daiquiris. There were some great roads on both sides of the river. Going to have to do this ride again.

ROX Risers and longer brake line?
Posted by: MrBob_imp - 05-16-2021, 12:47 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (3)

I have a pair of ROX 3 1/2" risers the I plan to install on my CB. AFAIK, I have the stock bars. Has anyone installed these risers and what adjustments were required? For sure, it looks like the upper brake line will need to be longer. It may be that I can run most of cables under the triple tree.
Most of my bikes get this modification, unless I can find Heli Bars.

What is inside a fuse box?

Hello, can you please send a picture of your fuse boxes?

I recently had a service, I think a fuse puller is missing.

Alternatives to Stock 4 into 1 Header Pipes?
Posted by: Yata-Garasu_imp - 05-15-2021, 08:36 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (16)

My 2014 header pipes have developed a greyish/yellow patina which isn't that pretty.

I knew this was an issue when I got the bike, but I didn't think it would bother me. Now it seems to be getting worse.

I think the previous owner tried to polish the header pipes, which may have made a slight improvement at the time, but now it seems to have scuffed the pipes permanently.

I will probably need to replace the header pipes for a lasting solution.

Any suggestions? I couldn't find any threads dedicated to the his one particular problem.

Thanks in advance for your help.
