Ordered a new rear tire, a Michelin Scorcher for my 2020 HD Low Rider at the beginning of April, was told it would be in the first of May, still don't have it. Back ordered where ever I look. Due to the China Virus I assume.
If I don't have it in time I'll have to call on the CB 1100 for the trip. Just put new rubber on it last month so I'm good there, will just have to figure out how to pack my gear on it, (I camp on my trips).
Just in case I should probably now send for the pass I'll need for the Honda to enter Sturgis city limits.

Hum Coming From Gas Tank Area

Hi All,
Just received my 2017 EX yesterday. Will post some pics soon.
I noticed there's a periodic hum sound coming from the gas tank after shutting off the bike. Is this normal? I searched the forum and didn't see anything about it. It's sounds like a little pump or electric motor. I'm guessing it's the EVAP system, but I think it's been humming periodically all night since yesterday so why would it still be happening?
Thanks, any help is appreciated.

put the new wheel and new pads on the bike. went with same (old) seal for the one piston that I inadvertently popped out, since it was just one... bled the lines and went out and bedded the pads. couple times around the block then, for a test run, and all went smooth. feels like new, as it should. Thanks all for your input!

BMG Zodiac Jacket

Former CB1100 rider and current Forum member, Capo, owns and operates British Motorcycle Gear. BMG is "a small, family owned business, committed to personal service, offering a curated selection of riding apparel designed for comfort, durability, protection, and style." I like their selection of gear although some of it is beyond my financial means to acquire.
Their Zodiac jacket is priced out at $149.00, but I believe that Forum members get a discount of 10%. That's about the same as my current summer jacket, the Olympia Dallas. The Dallas is a great jacket, but it was a little too big for me when I bought it and it's practically falling off of me now that I shed a few pounds. I messaged Capo and we talked jacket sizing and motorcycles for a bit. I placed the order yesterday and hope to have it before we leave for Custer, SD on July 2nd. In an odd coincidence, Capo and a riding friend may be in Custer around the same time my group is. We've exchanged cell #s in case there's an opportunity to meet up out there.
Here's the link to the jacket. [url=https://www.britishmotorcyclegear.com/jackets/zodiac-jacket.html]BMG Zodiac Jacket
I will opine on it's fit, style, and performance upon my return from South Dakota. In the meantime, I want to report that the personalized service I received from BMG was off the chart. If you're in the market for some stylish and high quality gear, you should check them out.

Extra turn signal on dash

Not sure how you feel about the turn signal lights on the CB dash, I think they are very poor as are most bikes I've owned except the Yam FJR.
I came up with this home made solution years ago and have moved this onto most bikes I've owned to stop me leaving the turn signal on or keep pressing the button to check they are really off.
So I installed it on the CB today.
Hope this short video works ok and shows how you can see it even if not looking at it and it even reflects in the screen so doubles the effect.

The one light works on left and right signals so just one is needed and if its to bright at night or not needed I just stick black tape over it.

Mounting a garage door remote

I replaced my garage door opener over the weekend, and have a new remote that seems to be a little more heat sensitive than my last one.
Previously, I velcroed the remote under the tank on the right side just behind the engine, up against the black plastic side cover. The remote for my complex gate is under the tank on the other side. I like them under there since they are out of view but can easily be found reaching under the tank. The new remote works when I leave in the morning and the engine isn't hot, but doesn't want to work when I get home and the engine is hot. My last remote wasn't as sensitive.
Just wondering if anyone has mounted a remote on their CB, where did you put it?

Pipemaster 4 in to 4 question

As a few of you know I just bought a 2014 DLX and it came with what I believe to be Pipemaster 4 in to 4 exhaust system. My understanding is that new they would cost over $2000 with shipping. I tried installing the original center stand and it will not fit so I might want to sell this system.
Sridhar, a forum member, is the one that sent me the link to the bike for sale and expressed an interest in the exhaust so he would get first shot. I have sent him a few messages without a response, yet. I want to be fair with the price and not sure what to ask for them. So can someone confirm that they are Pipemaster and what would be a fair price plus shipping expense?
Thank you,
Tom
