With a big birthday (70) coming up a couple of weeks ago, my wife suggested that being a big speedway fan I should have a go! Spent a day at Leicester speedway (UK) with AMSA (Amateur Motorcycle Speedway Academy). More fun than I can tell you. So much in fact that I've booked another day soon. Not only the wife's idea, she even paid for it.....What a Girl!

Plugs arrived in the mail today decided to whip those in real quick. Turned the key.. no power. Lifted up seat to find a lovely little insulation nest.
Not a big deal these things happen. Chewed my GPS in case it gets stolen again oh well. Seems my battery won’t charge whatsoever now. I’m pretty sure it’s the original battery meaning it’s 7 y/o.
Guess it’s time to get a new one huh?
what can I do as a preventative to rodents? (Also checked the visible wires for any damage, none I could see)

So, while my wife and I were on our week-long driving trip up and down California, along with a ton of rented motorhomes, we also saw couples on adventure bikes enjoying the twisty roads.

It's at this time that my wife will throw out the comment "Ya know, it does look fun. Maybe I wouldn't mind riding." She has always said that she'd rather learn to ride her own bike than ride on the back of one of mine. And, since she's been forced, on a very few occaisions, to move one of my bikes around in the garage to get to something, she finds my bikes huge and heavy. So, she'd want something small with a low center of gravity.

I got the sense that this time, she sounded more serious. My mind started swirling, and at our hotel stop that night, I started scouring Craig's for bikes like Rebels. Then, I backed up and thought about it.

I told her that the first thing we should probably do is teach her to drive my car, so she can get the feel of working a clutch on something that won't fall over if she gets nervous. Then, if she's comfortable with that, get her into a basic riding course, which will probably put her on a Rebel or something similar, to see how she does. Plus, she'd be able to get her M1 endorsement without a riding test (per CA regs)

Then, if she's still interested in moving forward with a bike for her. Who knows, maybe this time it will really happen. If she loses interest, It'd be nice to have a small bike parked at my Mom's place to tool around in her area.

It's a 2019 C650GT. 60 hp, twin cylinder, DOHC 650 with CVT, ABS, traction control, electric windscreen, heated grips, heated rider & passenger seats, 15" wheels. Rated at 112 mph. I haven't taken delivery yet but the reviews are glowing.

I started out last night leaving straight from work. I wanted to get a jump on my 500 mile ride to my rendezvous today in Pounding Mill, VA. I scooted down Rt1 for a bit and then headed west to avoid the mess that is the Baltimore/Washington area finally getting into Harpers Ferry a little after 9. I found some great twisties in Western Maryland, almost hit a deer and was passed on the right on a two lane road by a 1%. All in all not a bad start to the trip.

The night was capped off with some Blue Moons and the always delicious Sheetz fried sampler……mmmmm that’s good!

About a month ago I was working in my garage and out of the corner of my eye I see a bike go by,could have been a CB1100,but I doubt I. So a few days ago I'm pulling into my garage and my neighbor goes by on a 2014 Deluxe,didn't know you could get those in the U.S. So I ride over and the guy also has a 2014 Standard,3 random CB1100 in the same place at once,never seen that before. He bought the Deluxe for the ABS and the bigger tank,the 2014 Standards for sale,1000 miles asking $8000 I think he said.

Is there anyway I can get my gearbox to shift smoother? I have read somewhere that if the gears were cut different that it would smooth out the shifting instead of clunking! Anyone hear of this?

Hello all,
I got a new pair of boots and have an issue with shifting, of course. I've already made the adjustment so that my boot slips under the shift pedal but I have to angle the boot tip inward to get a good fit or miss a shift and that's a bit awkward off a stop. Has anyone replaced their shift lever or have another fix that works for you in order to extend the lever up to an inch longer? Thank you.

My recently purchased 2018 CB1100 EX comes with aluminium wheels and SS spokes. Its has a good set of Pirelli Sport Demons fitted. Personally I dont know these tyres but reviews seem to rank them ok, any feedback / recommendations?
Im 91kg, older (just over 70) ride solo with a rear rack and bag with about say 10kg luggage on board. Roads I ride are mostly non highway / motorway country roads with corners between 45 and 100km hour, sometimes the road is a little dirty (farm vehicles use the roads etc) and at this time of the year often wet. Riding pace is moderate to brisk with guys on 'pretend' adventure style bikes (Suzuki V Strom etc).
So question finally, is pressure, book say 36/42, appreciate any feedback etc.
PS, yet to set up the sag and adjust the preload, from what I read sag should be around 25 - 32mm (1" to 1-1/4"). Comments?
