Hello from Houston. Would someone mind looking at their owners manual and report back what the load carrying capacity of the bike is? Also, any notes on whether or not this includes fluids. Also, if one plans on carrying a passenger, do you typically change the pre-load on the springs? Thanks, in advance. Dave.

My CB had her 8k service today, all is well, 4 exhaust valves were "loose" and had shims added. Shop mechanic and I thought it was odd that the clearances were loose and not tight. Maybe it came that way from the factory in anticipation of the valves seating. Plugs were good so that means the bike's computer is compensating for the new exhaust pipe. Labor is a little more than I thought it would be.
$420 and money for shims, etc, brought the bill to $453. Oh well, peace of mind is worth that.

First tour near Plöner See

Last month I was my the first longer tour with my Black Beauty.
Around 2200 Km in Germany, in five days. Here some impressions:

Started in the West and went to the very East (Bayrischer Wald).





On the third day down to the boarder to Austria and through the first Alps




Then West again through the mountains to the lovely Bodensee:




On the fifth day a long way back home... This day it rained heavily, but it was still great fun riding the CB!!

This was by far the best tour I've ever had with the by far best bike I've ever owned
Now the weather is getting bad over here, and I cannot stand waiting for next spring.

Back in 1967 I was serving in US Coast Guard and first thing out of Boot Camp I bought 305 Super Hawk. I used to ride it from Houston to San Antonio to see my girl friend.

i am trying to install a cafe fairing on my bike. two of the brackets fit on to the turn signal post. how do you loosen the turn signals enough to slide brackets between?

I was about to buy some S100 at a bike dealer that cost $14.00 a quart, then find out I have some Oil Eater I used on my car engine yrs ago. Just use it on my bike wheels, work wonder, at 3K these wheels are covered with grim, tar, bug and oil chain --> now clean with minimal effort The center stand are bad, covered with all the chain oil --> now clean with few swipes.

I like to know bikes electrical status at all times so I install digital voltmeters on all my bikes. Also installed between brake house and wire bundle is 12 volt accessory plug wired "hot" to battery this way I can easily charge battery.
Turn signals are nice aluminum units from Dime City.
